Sometimes, life is tough. Sometimes, we get so bogged down in whatever is going on that we feel like we just won't make it. We've all been there. But, you will make it. You will make it to the other side.

We all face different battles in life, and that's not to say any one battle is harder or more difficult than another. But, there is one thing we can all take comfort in...there is light at the end of the tunnel. You might have to trek through the darkest depths to find it, but keep going. As our good friend Miley used to tell us, "it's all about, it's all about the climb." On your climb back up to the top, on your climb to happiness, remember these few things...

1. Choose Joy, Baby

Wake up every day, and think, "Today, I will choose joy. I will make today as joyful as I can." There's no promise that every day in life will be the perfect day, but you can try your best. It may be a week, a month, or even a year, but eventually, you will Choose Joy and you WILL have the perfect day.

2. Find Someone Who Lifts You Up

It might be your #BFF, but then again, it might not. It might be someone you barely know. It might be the lady in the cafeteria or you might find someone who has been through the same thing. Whoever it is, find that one person who makes you forget about everything else in the world and makes you SMILE!

3. Find Someone to Lift Up

There's nothing I believe in more. Volunteer at the animal shelter, tutor a little kid, take cookies to the homeless shelter, write someone a letter. Find someone, anyone, who is having a hard time and LIFT THEM UP. By lifting others up, we, too, instill strength in ourselves.

4. Sing in the Shower, forreal

Turn that break-up jam on MAX. volume, and SING BABY SING. Sing until you're out of breath. Sing until you cry. Sing until you fee like you can take on the world.

5. Get Involved

Join a new club, join a team, go to a meeting, start a new class! Whatever you do, staying busy can help distract you from even life's hardest battles!

6. Find Something That Makes You Laugh

I like to say that Jessica Day is my hero, but seriously, find something that makes you laugh. A book. A TV show. A Movie. A Comic Strip. An Instagram Account. A song. Take time to laugh. You deserve it.

7. Food Therapy is Real

Eat the Pizza. Eat the whole container of Ben and Jerry's Half Baked (tbh, I do that on the reg.) Get Chinese take out. Eat the extra bagel. Eat popcorn and M&M's in bed while watching Netflix. Get the fries. Hell, Supersize that ish if you wanna.

8. Work it, baby

#LTB, girlfrand. Exercising relieves stress, and it makes you feel good about yourself. Find your favorite exercise jams, and kick life's battles to the curb!

9. Don't be ashamed

We all face different battles in life: personal, family, relationship, friendship, professional, or even battles of the past. Don't be ashamed to share your story with others. If you need to, share your issues with a professional. There are always people who can help and understand.

10. Pray

There is nothing more powerful than prayer. There is no one more powerful than God. He will help us through all of life's battles, big or small.

Maybe your puppy just died, maybe your heart is broken, maybe you lost a loved one. Maybe you failed a test, maybe you didn't get into Law School, or maybe you just feel alone. I hope you will find the light at the end of the tunnel. I hope you will find some laughter. I hope you will choose joy.

Keep Climbing, you rock-star you. You will make it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
