Dearest Children,

I want you to know first off how much you are loved. You are a literal son or daughter of God and I am so thankful for the opportunity He has given me to be your mom in this journey called life. I cannot wait to see how your talents and gifts you have been given will be used in this world and how you will make a difference. I hope you never forget that. Always remember how important family is, they are our support and will ultimately be the ones we stick with forever.

Remember to always pray and thank God for everything He has given you, and for things you need. He loves you and wants to hear from you daily. Just like when you come home and tell me about your day, He already knows but wants the opportunity to talk back with you in conversation and allow a relationship to grow. Never forget your potential in this life and strive each day to seek it. I will be there with you every step of the way.

Please know I am sad and very disappointed with the world, but I know there is no greater joy than having a family and being able to watch you grow and make this world a little brighter is all I could ever want. Stand up for what you believe in, never settle for any reason, and always always always be kind to everyone you get in contact with.

I know there will be days you don't make the baseball team or get into the college of your dreams, or even an F on a test in 4th grade, please know that I will help you redefine the word failure. You are not measured by those things but instead, that allows you to grow and find a way to push yourself harder to become successful. Never ever be afraid of the word NO.

Reach your dreams. If you want to be the President, live in a certain state, or even a janitor at an elementary school, go for it. Never let people or anything get in your way. This does not mean put people down so you get ahead. Support others in their passions and dreams and watch how high you will soar. There will be times you will question if you are good enough or smart enough and I promise you, YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU SET YOUR MIND TO. Only you can tell yourself "I can't". (Which will not be words we use)

Count your blessings and be thankful for opportunities to learn new things. I loved growing up and seeing what challenges needed to lie ahead for me to learn and develop new qualities. Those trials, temptations, and hardships will feel like the end of the world, everyone feels this way. You will feel alone and think no one has ever gone through what you might be struggling with. I know because I have felt the same way. I was so wrong. I might not ever deal with the trials you have to, but Christ knows exactly how you feel and He is there 100% for you, no matter the stage or condition you are in. It is never to late to ask for help and support from someone who has literally felt exactly the way you do. I hope I can teach you accordingly so you never get to a point you think is "too late".

Work hard in school, work, family, and church. Its all about time management and attitude. You may feel like you are lacking in certain areas but I promise if you are giving it your time, you are doing more than enough. Never let work or education get in the way of family that it ruins relationship and memories. You will have those memories and moments when you die, but not the job or material items.

I will always love you and support you in every decision you make, even really difficult decisions. You are never alone and I will always do everything in my power to give you the best life and opportunities. You can never be a disappointment in my eyes. You play a piece in this wonderful life and this world, so go out there and make your mark.

I love you,

Your Future Mom

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
