The calm before the storm... of finals.

At first...this week brings you a rush of joy, excitement and the anticipation of the warm, sunny days ahead of you.

Instead of the usual Sunday anxiety, you're thinking about two things: 1. the fact that the semester from hell is finally over and 2. In little to no time at all, it'll be summer which means beaches, making money and spending all hours of the night at your local bars avoiding your ex from high school, which is sometimes more fun than you'd imagine.

You wake up on Monday tired and angry, but still motivated and focused. You've got your planner, your laptop, your chargers, and a large coffee as you basically set up camp in the library. At first, you think you'll be fine, you'll get all your work done with time to spare. Then you realize what a joke that is and how you'll be basically living at this cubical in the library for the next week; but no worries, we're still very determined over here.

Thank god nobody can hear the amount of internal pep talks you give yourself attempting to keep it together.

Tuesday rolls around and you're a little bit closer to wanting to rip your hair out. You try and manage your time between all the work you have to get done and it seems nearly impossible. Between group projects, 10-page papers and creating study guides for finals next week, you're just about at the intersection of crippling anxiety and complete & total despair.

8 p.m. Tuesday night group meeting for presentation

It's already Wednesday and with just two days left, why in the world are we still taking notes on new information and getting assigned homework...shouldn't we maybe be reviewing for the final or something of that sort? Or is that none of your concern, Professor?

Finally, Thirsty Thursday. You still have to get up for your last 9 a.m. tomorrow because your professor decided that's when you'll have your last quiz, but that won't stop you from rallying. You also still have two papers to finish but let's not get technical, this may be your last Thursday night at the bar to toss back some $3 mystery shots before going home for summer.

*Friday morning: 8 a.m. alarm goes off*

At last, the semester has (almost) come to an end. This is the last day you have to sit through boring lectures, annoying classmates, bad B.O., someone stealing your seat and waking up before 10 am....at least for about 3-4 months.

You spend all weekend day drinking and totally disregarding the fact that next week will be the worst five days in existence: Finals Week.

And all of a sudden...in the blink of an eye...it's Sunday night and you're cramming for your four finals exams this week. Good luck collegiates.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
