Hillary Clinton is projected to face off with Donald Trump (despite Bernie Sanders’s continued push) in the general election to be crowned as the new president of the United States. She already has enough delegates to secure the democratic nomination and in the fall, she will be the first women to take charge as the head of a major American political party. Although very enticing when seen in writing, her actions throughout the years standing alongside her husband and her continuous problems that she have faced with gaining trust of the American voters has left people with a very distasteful view of the candidate. With that being said, it is much more of the same for the other presidential candidate in Donald Trump, who continues to face lawsuits in the abuse of power and foul play in his businesses such as the ongoing allegations centered on Trump University. No candidate is safe in this winner take all race and through these next few months, we will finally get to see a fight worth watching.
So here’s the tale of the tape…
Hillary Rodham Clinton
Full name: Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton
Notable accomplishments: 67th United States Secretary of State, United States Senator
Education: Wellesley College / Yale Law School
Party Affiliation: Democratic
Strengths: Can adhere to crowd whether they are with or against her and can stand up and keep composure during rough situations, a true presidential candidate in the making with all the necessary tools and a stacked resume to make it happen. Expect for her to be in your corner fighting for equality and women’s rights as well as the deserving equal pay for all women.
Weaknesses: Lacks consistency, and is often unable to stand strong with what she believes helps the nation grow; often switching ideas to suit the voters wants rather than needs. Is a crowd pleaser at heart and relies of the opposite party’s attacks to fuel her campaign.
Donald John Trump
Full name: Donald John Trump
Notable Accomplishments: Owner and Chairman of The Trump Organization, Host of The Apprentice
Education: Kew-Forest School / New York Military Academy / Fordham University / University of Pennsylvania
Party affiliation: Republican
Strengths: His appearance alone brings instant popularity and increased voting to the presidential election as he has been the old and new generation’s favorite. His words, although in most cases are considered absurd, holds truth to his character and seem to capture the attention of all watching. Gets the majority of votes from people who eat up his words without a second glance of thought as to what he is saying and who is the message directed to.
Weaknesses: It's Donald Trump so you know a lot of what he says does hurt him in the long run, as he often cannot separate his thoughts from what’s politically sensible to say on national television or through social media.
Although it’s still early, Hillary has a lot on her plate this coming fall and with the ongoing battle with Donald Trump, she is hoping to make that final push in order to secure her bid for the President of the United States. However, these views on the candidates can change at any time given the issues being discussed that the candidates would have to either support or strike down as a detriment to our nation. Either way, it’s the voter’s decision as to whom will wear the crown.
