College is fun. If you take aside the amount of student debt one might get from it, the experience is wonderful from the big and little things. The one main thing that I do enjoy is the sense of freedom and responsibility you get from it. These are skills you need to have in life to be able to live it well. Having the freedom to do what you want is great like will I have cake for breakfast or not. These important decisions you make is all up to you. With responsibility comes great power. You have to own up for your actions that you do. College has taught me that and I really enjoy it.
Another thing that I enjoy from college is the vast amount of people you meet. Even though I go to a small school there is big personalities that I enjoy getting to know every single day. From getting coffee at Starbucks, crying about exams, to eating sushi in the library. Spending every single day with something exciting with amazing people is always a joy.
Getting opportunities is another joy that I love about college. If it wasn't for college, I wouldn't have been passionately involved with my community theatre, gotten amazing jobs, and be a part of amazing student organizations that has helped me grow as an individual. Being involved with the theatre means I get to spend countless amount of hours a day with wonderful people in something that I'm passionately involved and want to do with my career. You do what you love and this is the place that I love. I have had a lot of jobs so far in college and some have been duds, while some have been amazing. I have been able to teach musical theatre to dance students which is a great stride in my career in teaching and I will cherish all the wonderful memories I have been making in this job. Finally with student organizations I have grown as a leader because of them while having fun. I also met my awesome roomates because of that and it is always great to form a wonderful friendship from a common purpose. All of this came from college!
Overall college has been a pure joy and I highly recommend people to take as much opportunities you can if you do decided to go to college. It is the time for you to be you and do the things you love and feel that you have a purpose in life. College will make the journey to your degree a fun experience where all of the hard work will pay off and you will be spending the rest of your life doing things that you care about. College has shown me who I am and I believe it does for everyone else. College is a joy in my life and I'm excited for what it will bring in my last two years there.
