Have you watched "Legally Blonde: The Musical"? If not, look up the MTV screening of it on YouTube here. It will change your life. I know every girl has learned something from the movie: you are smart regardless of your looks, you don't need a man to be successful or happy, orange is not the new pink. I learned these things -- we all did. Now in college, we hope to be like Elle and dominate our classes, regardless of ex-boyfriends. But for me, I learned more from the musical: I will never be accomplished at jump-roping, a dog that barks on command is a dog that I want, and love is no time to economize. But there is one big lesson that I will always take away every time I watch the musical, and that is the importance of a Greek chorus.

The Greek Chorus in the musical consists of mirages of her best friends and sorority sisters (most notably: Serena, Margot, and Pilar). They first show up in imaginary form after Elle is kicked out of her first class with Professor Callahan and Warner Huntington the Third. They appear after she learns that Warner is already dating again, and their first number is a pump-up song about winning Warner back. The Chorus is there for Elle, whether it be to support in person or not. They want what Elle wants. When they were back home, they helped her get into law school. Now that she's across the country, they are there to help her accomplish her goal of being successful enough for Warner. Even if some of their advice is silly and could potentially do more harm than good, they are trying their hardest to help their friend. Every girl needs a Greek chorus in her life.

These girls are there for everything. They start off with being supportive of Elle and her pursuit, but as they see Elle grow more disdain for her ex, they do as well, even cheering when Elle "got all up in Warner's face." They understand when dreams change, and they go with their friend's feelings, even when it is from love to independence. They accept Elle's new friends. They teach Paulette how to "Bend and Snap", ultimately leading to a budding romance between the hairdresser and the package guy. They are in the wings celebrating holidays with her. And in the end, they show up for Elle's big day. They know the important stuff and know how to help their friend. They weren't a chorus for their own sake, they were a chorus for their friend's sake. Selfless friends are the kind of friend that every girl needs and deserves.

So here's the thing: go get yourself a Greek chorus. Find the best friends that will support you in all of your decisions. The girls that will chat with you non-stop about boys, the girls that will get you ready for your supposed engagement night and then will bring you magazines when the night goes the opposite way, the girls that will celebrate your accomplishments and always be there for you, no matter the distance. A Greek chorus is important for sanity. No one wants to feel alone. With a Greek chorus, you won't. You'll know that they will always be there. So, find yourself some singing sisters.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
