Why Disney World Is The Happiest Place On Earth

It's Disney World, don't fight me on this.

Princesses, rides and magical moments, everyone has their own thoughts about what makes Walt Disney World so magical. Whether you've been once, twice or a hundred times, Disney never fails to put (and usually keep) a smile on everyone's face.

Here's what does it for me:

1. Magical moments

Without fail, my group has had an iconic Disney "magical moment" during our trips. From passes to jump to the front of the line on every attraction at Hollywood Studios, free churros from a vendor, or walking 13 people into Belle's Castle for a lunch that most people need reservations at least a year in advance AND getting free dessert, Disney just gets it. Little things go a long way and little things make people happy.

2. It feels real

From the very first moment you walk through the gates, you become a part of the Disney story. The workers don't have jobs, they have a roles, they don't work, they act. Everything is designed to take your breathe away and make you feel like dreams really do come true. You could be five or 50, it doesn't matter. The magic is real for every one.

3. Cultural Experiences

Of course, you get to experience the culture of royalty in the Magic Kingdom with the constant, "here you go, princess," but let's not look over the fact that there are 11 countries represented in Epcot's World Showcase (plus 22 extra countries during the annual Food and Wine Festival). The countries and booths allow you to taste the country's cuisine, hear their music, see their architecture and experience their culture firsthand.

Although, Epcot has quite a bit to offer, don't forget the exotic land of Animal Kingdom which gives you a taste of Asia and Africa with its safari and the jungle feel the entire park brings to the table.

4. It all started with a mouse

Disney is because Mickey was.

Walt Disney himself said it best, "I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing – that it was all started by a mouse."

5. It's the happiest place on earth.

You've heard it said, and if you've been there, you know it's true: Disney really is the happiest place on earth. Between seeing Cinderella's Castle and dreaming about the perfect proposal, or meeting Prince Charming and getting the feels, Disney, in true Disney fashion, never disappoints.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
