Come inside, I promise nothing will bite.
The gym is one of the most intimidating places in my opinion. Most of the time I think people don't go to the gym or do much at the gym since they do not know what they can do with the equipment. People get intimidated from watching people that do know what they are doing and avoid it so they do not look like idiots.
People in the gym most of the time aren't even paying attention to what others are doing. The majority of the time they are looking at their self to see if they are doing it correctly or watching TV from a distance on the walls.
Ask for help from somebody; I promise they will not make fun of you. Everybody has to start somewhere when they begin going. I personally have been going to the gym more frequently. When I began I had no idea what I could do there so I stayed on the treadmill or the elliptical for the most part. Until I started going to workout with my boyfriend and his roommate. Since then, I have been doing so much more at the gym and do not feel intimidated to go in there and do workouts that do not involve just the treadmill or the elliptical.
I believe that if more people were informed on how to workout at the gym they would feel more comfortable working out. Watch YouTube videos the night before going to the gym. Educated yourself on how to workout at the gym. Also, a person does not have to only workout at the gym, there are other ways to workout where you live. A person is capable to workout in their home and uses different equipment at their house to workout. Be confident in yourself when working out. I promise it will make yourself feel so much better.
It has been proven when a person works out that they tend to be happier in life. Also, the gym is a very therapeutic place to go. You are able to clear your head for thirty minutes to an hour.
Do not be afraid to go to they gym and workout. There are so many ways to learn how to workout. Grab a friend or somebody and go workout. Go to a park and go for a jog, but be active and confident when you workout.
I promise the gym will not talk back to you when you mess up. It also won't yell at you for not doing that last rep you skipped because you are sore. The gym from the outside may seem intimidating, but go inside and try it out. The worst thing that could happen to you is become healthier and confident in yourself for trying something new. Ask for help because majority of the time, they like to be asked for help from somebody to educate them on working out.
