Friend [noun]: a person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection, typically exclusive of sexual or family relations.
Friends with benefits [noun]: two friends who have a sexual relationship without being emotionally involved. Typically, two good friends who have casual sex without a monogamous relationship or any kind of commitment.
Boyfriend [noun]: a regular male companion in a romantic and/or sexual relationship.
Let's face it, guys, ours is a lost generation of men. And with good reason.
First of all -- No, she doesn't want to date you. One of the biggest issues for college students is communication. Guys especially lack in this department. Guys tend to think that because we made out drunk at his fraternity house one night, and I said hey to him in the library, that I'm already planning our wedding. This couldn't be far from the truth. No I can't speak for all females, there are some crazy ones -- but for the most part, she's just as content remaining single as you are.
There will always remain an underlying game to be played between girls and guys. Although you always tell yourself you're too old for games -- don't lie to yourself, you're not. A relationship between a girl and a guy will always involve a game of some sort. Males have neurochemicals such a testosterone that lead them to be more physically impulsive and aggressive than females. Additionally males have less oxytocin (a bonding relationship chemical) than females. I'm not even sure I understood what I just said, so I'll sum it up for us all -- the chemical differences in males and females often lead the guys needing an additional form of stress relief -- sex. And girls are more interested in the emotional involvement. But don't let biology fool you. Girls enjoy sex just as much as guys do.
The relationship between girls and guys is love/hate -- you can live with them, but you sure as hell can't live without them. Here are a few common misconceptions about girls.
If you take her on a date, she wants more than just the free food.
If she lets you stay over, she wants to cuddle in the morning.
If she's sleeping with you, she wants to meet your entire extended family.
If she texts you, she wants to date you.
If she asks you to hang out, she wants to have sex.
Don't get it wrong fellows -- do your research.
Unless you're 6'3" with tattoos, have great hair, can play the guitar, love dogs, and will cook for me, I'm not obsessed with you.
