When I look back to the most important moments in life, I can always remember someone standing there next to me. Luckily for me, all of my best friends like each other. We are even planning a beach trip together. In my opinion, I would not survive if I didn't have these friends. They have done so much more for me than just go to the movies, or give me advice. They have become a part of me. No matter how far everyone travels, or how mad we get, the friends mentioned below will always have my heart. They have taught me who I wanna be, and how to get there.
The friend that ended up being family
Hannah.
I had a best friend when I was young. We spent every day together. From birthday parties, to playing in the mud, to sleepovers, the two of us ruled the world for as much as two 4 years olds can. When I started kindergarten, she moved away, and for about 6 years we lost touch. Somehow, our mothers found each other in Walmart one day and knew we had to see each other again. Since that day, Hannah and I haven't stopped talking. Even though we don't play in the mud together anymore, we spend time together by watching hockey games, eating, and confiding in each other for just about everything. I know that Hannah and I will be friends until one of us dies. I don't even consider her my best friend anymore. She's my family and always will be. She has a good heart, possibly even the best heart. Every day she teaches me about kindness. I'm not sure if you can ask anything more from someone.
The one I always run to
Kailyn.
This friend is the one who hears my problems… constantly, and I hear hers….constantly. From the outside, people would think that all we ever do is talk about the bad stuff. That isn't true, we watch Disney movies together when we aren't talking! She knows all of the “important” details about every break up. She knows my struggles with school. She knows about family problems. She's the one I run to, and always will. Life would be less bright if I didn't have her. She's the one who knows me for me. Her acceptance of all of my actions show me how to be myself.
The one that hated me
Hey, Carleigh.
I'm not sure why she hated me. But somehow, someway, we became friends. Now days, she pushes me to my limits, hurts my feelings, puts me back together, feeds me, loves me and never asks for anything in return. I wouldn't survive this world without her. She's the one who knows how to take care of me. She makes me laugh harder than anyone I know. Her humor matches mine pretty perfectly. No matter how far she may go, we will continue to take care of each other.
The one that continues to blow my mind.
My Lauren.
She is the one who dares me to do good. She's the one who answers all of my Jesus questions the best she can. I've known her since I was so young, but I didn't value how important her friendship was until we grew older. My favorite memory with her is running during soccer season. It seems like such an awful thing to remember, but it wasn't with Lauren. We would always run the slowest, laughing every step. Lauren and I stuck together through all of the useless drama of middle school and high school, and she is still the girl who makes me laugh the most. I am thankful for her in ways I can't express.
The new girl
Jay, sorry you still have that title.
She moved to my school in the 7th grade. She wasn't from the south, and man could everyone tell. Ripped jeans, dark eyeliner, and a big attitude is my first impression of her. Today, those are my favorite things about her. Jordan was there when I went on my first date. Jordan was the one I was lucky enough to walk with at graduation. I don't have another friend like her. She's the friend with a big heart, and a great RBF. She's tough when I'm not. I can't wait for you to come home.
The one who amazes me
Sierra, this is your title because it is so true.
She is the one who works the hardest every day. She works to be a mother, a girlfriend, a daughter, a friend, and a follower of Christ every moment she breaths. She's the one who amazes me because she's the one who will NOT back down. She will not give up. I've never met a more driven person. I'm so proud of her. She pushes me to be the best version of me I can put forward. No matter what is happening, I know she can pick me up and brush me off.
The college best friend
Caitie-Bug
It's so funny to think I have only known you for ten months. Most of my friends, I've known since I was little. I'm just not sure how I survived without you. When life was dark and grey, and I felt so alone, you came to me and made sure I never felt alone again. You know how I feel about you, you've heard my love book entry, but I love you times a million just doesn't do justice. Thank you for saving me. Thank you for listening. Thank you for caring.
My person
Mantha.
Our friendship has gone through it all. From hating you because you took the last slice of pizza, to ignoring you because of your bad attitude, to sleeping on your couch when a boy was too cruel. Thanks for taking the time to know me inside and out. She's the friend I get to bad talk the whole world to. She's the one who will tell me when I look like crap. She's the one who buys me food because I'm poor, and never complains. She shares her house with me. She shares her family with me. She has the number I would call if I ended up in jail. She's my person.
Life is way too hard to not have a bestfriend. So I have eight. I can't thank these girls enough. They have taught me, fought me, and cared about me enough for a lifetime. There are also friends that I didn't mention here. Marlee, JL, Emily. You just play a different role in my life. ;) Don't worry, you have your own articles coming your way. There are not enough thank yous, not enough sonic slushies, and certainly not enough hugs to express my love and appreciation for my people. But I will continue to try.
