Let your ambition shine through.

"Ambition — a strong desire to do or to achieve something, typically requiring determination and hard work."

Ambition is a quality that is hard to find in people these days. People don't always work as hard as they could to achieve what they want. Being a girl with ambition and big dreams is a great quality. Even if those dreams seem to out of reach, they can be achieved if you really want them to.

Your dreams can be as big as you want them to be. Think big and keep an open mind. There are endless possibilities in this world and nothing is out of reach.

Society tends to outline a woman's life for them. The "traditional" way of doing things is beginning to change slowly but surely. Getting married and having children while putting a career on hold isn't always what women do anymore and that is a great thing.

Be proud of your big dreams and do all you can to make them a reality. Study hard, get involved in college and graduate with a degree you have longed for. Dress up and go impress your boss in your first big job.

Each step along the way to success matters. There will always be people trying to tear you down. People will tell you that your dreams are far too big to become a reality. They will say you aren't smart enough and that you don't have what it takes.

At the end of the day, only you can tell if you have what it takes and it all comes down to how hard you work. If you have the motivation, use it to work as hard as you can. Let your fire shine through and push yourself to your limits. If your dream really is that important to you, nothing will be able to slow you down.

Don't let anyone make you feel like putting your dreams first is a bad thing, because if you want it, that's what matters the most. Men don't get questioned when they put their careers first, so neither should you. Your ambition is a beautiful thing and you should never think any different.

Remember that things won't always come easily. Some days your goals and dreams will seem so impossible, but you shouldn't get discouraged. No dream is impossible if you have the ambition and work ethic to make it happen.

You may feel like you are just a little girl with big dreams, but you are far more than that. You are a woman with ambition and hope and that is the best quality to have. You are capable of anything you put your mind to.

So, never let anyone tell you that your dreams are too far away. Never let them cause you to lose your fire or let your ambition slip away.

Don't let anyone or any idea of how you should be living to change your dreams. You can make them a reality and you will make them a reality as long as you work hard enough.

Keep your mind open and keep letting your ambition shine through.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
