To the Girl Who Loves Him Next,
It’s almost crazy to think about someone else loving him because he’s my forever. However, if for some reason we’re not together in the future I need to know he’s taken care of. Every morning he starts his days off with coffee, but by noon he’ll complain that he’s tired. He isn’t trying to complain he just wants you to know how he feels. He prefers black coffee he can buy cheap from a gas station and won’t drink Starbucks. He drinks it hot and I mean tongue scorching hot. However, if he orders coffee at a restaurant he’ll ask for a cup of water and use the ice to cool it down. Don’t ask me why he does this, because I don’t have the slightest clue why, but it’s the little things he does like this that should make you fall in love.
Don’t even get me started about his truck. One day when he’s a father I hope he loves his kids half as much as he loves that truck. He’ll talk about it all the time and brag about it like it’s one of a kind. It’s not but he is. It’s nothing but trouble, something he’ll complain about often. He doesn’t want you to try to fix his problems he just wants you to listen. When it comes to listening to you he can be frustrating but you have to bear with him. He’ll try to give you advice and try to fix your problems even if it’s not what you want. Don’t get mad at him. It’s just him showing how much he cares.
He’s hardworking so he gets tired easily. Do not take for granted him spending all his free time with you. He doesn’t have to, he chooses to. He loves lying in bed watching Netflix and cuddling. His favorite show is Modern Family though he hates to admit it. However, he’ll always let you pick what you want to watch and he’ll never say the phrase “No. The Game is On”. When he starts to get tired you’ll know because he’ll insist he’s not but he will either take out his contacts or pull of his glasses and then lay right back down. I can bet you twenty dollars right now that within five minutes he’s snoring. He does that by the way. I found it easiest to just hold his nose and then he’ll wake up and stop. It sounds evil, I know, but it’ll make you giggle and in his sleepy way he’ll smile and wrap his arms around you.
He’s not like other boys you’ve dated in the past. You can trust him. You don’t need to go through his phone or ask him where he’s been. Chances are he’s with his family, who are pretty amazing by the way. You’ll love his mom and dad and the way his siblings treat you like the world. However, you’ll also love his grandpa or as I like to call him: his role model. His family has shaped the boy he is and the man he will soon become. Look at the way he treats his mom and you know you’ll be set for life.
He likes BDubs and beer. He likes to shoot guns and be lazy. He likes to lift weights at the gym and even around all the supermodel looking girls, he’ll only have eyes for you. He’s his own oxymoron, he’s so special and unique. When you make him mad he’ll ignore you for hours. It’s not because he stopped loving you it’s because he doesn’t want to make it any worse. When something is wrong he can sense it you don’t have to tell him. He’ll roll his eyes when you annoy him and it’s important to give him his space. When he goes to parties, he’ll always invite you and he’ll want you to meet his friends. It’ll be intimidating but you should do it sooner than I did.
Something I can’t stress enough is when he tells you he loves it he means it. You’re not going to be his first love but you might be his last. Love is not an easy word for him to say and I still don’t know why. He’s a puzzle I love solving so I really don’t rush it. All I know is that every time he looks at me I know that he loves me with everything he has to offer and he would never purposely hurt me or break my heart. If you can’t see that, then he’s not the one for you. His hugs are the tightest and his kisses will give you butterflies. You could write songs about his laugh and poems about his smile. He is everything you could ever want or desire. He will be your best friend.
As I’ve written this letter to you, I’ve fallen back in love with him all over again and I hope no one ever has to read this. I hope there never is another girl that he loves or another girl that he brings home to meet his parents. I hope I’m writing this and one day he’ll just see it and know it was about him and smile. However, if this letter served its purpose and you are the girl who loves him next I need you to promise to take care of him and give him your all. I promise I will not taunt you or try to convince you that he is wrong for you. I will not meddle in your all’s relationship as long as you promise to remember that every time you hold him, you have the world in your arms.
