"You've got to love yourself first. You've got to be okay on your own before you can be okay with somebody else. " -Jennifer Lopez
You’re the girl that cares too much; always putting others before yourself, letting things bother you that shouldn’t, and loving too deeply. It is both a beautiful, but completely evil thing at the exact same time.
A lot of the time, it can result in you getting hurt or taken for granted. Since you care too much and don’t want to let others down, it can result in letting other people walk all over you. People know that you won’t say no, and you won’t hold a grudge if they treat you badly. You always want to tend to other people’s feelings, thinking that it will make them like you more. But that isn’t even all of it, tending to others makes you happy, because you are giving them the love that you won’t give to yourself.
You have a heart that has so much love, but not enough room for it, so it spills over onto everyone you know and everything you do. You care so much about the people around you that you usually forget to care about yourself. You have been caught in a generation where people think it’s weak to show feelings, and think it’s alright to treat others terribly.
You have also been caught in a generation where people do not want a relationship, only a “hook up”, someone to fool around with for a little while, break their heart, and move on to the next one. You are the girl who wants that relationship. When you find that person, you get attached; quickly, feeling too much too soon, even when you know it’s not good for you. You will fight for this person until you can’t possibly do anything else. You are the girl who wants nothing more than to give love and to be loved by others.
I know you don’t like to say no, you think that it will make others think less of you, but I promise you that it won’t. A lot of people will use that as way to take advantage of you; knowing that they can ask you to do anything for them and you will most likely deliver.
My advice to you is please start loving yourself; I know it’s hard when all you can see are your flaws but it is so worth it. And understand that it is okay to say no sometimes, and to take some time for yourself. Even though it feels like no one else cares for you, I promise you they do; everyone feels alone sometimes. Love yourself first and the rest will follow.
