With the new Gilmore Girls Special airing on November 24th, and with holidays coming up, I thought I'd take a moment and appreciate my mom, and our Gilmore-like relationship. I don't know what I'd do without my mom. And though many miles separate us, she'll always have a special place in my heart.

1. When I come home for the holidays

My mom and are huggers, so months spent apart call for major hug reunions.

2. Neither of us are big fans of Mondays

My mom especially loves sleeping in on weekends and getting up at 6 a.m. Come Monday, it is not as fun.

3. Whenever something goes wrong and I can't handle it, she's the first one I call.

She's my mom, and therefore my superhero. Of course I'll call her even when I'm fifty.

4. When someone upsets me and I'm beating around the bush.

I don't like to name drop, even if my mom doesn't know the person who I want to punch in the face.

5. My mom is a stubborn lady, so sometimes compromise is difficult.

When my mom is in the grocery store, things can get interesting, but also embarrassing.

6. When I moved away, Mom had a tough time

So did I. We were both sobbing messes.

7. When I have a performance or am speaking publicly, she's always there.

Even in spirit, she's cheering me on, and supporting me in everything I do.

8. We watch Jeopardy for fun

Yes we are nerds, and we have a ton of useless trivia stored up.

9. She has good advice when I like a guy

Even if I don't want to hear it.

10. Car dancing...

Super embarrassing, but also really fun.

11. She tells me I work too hard.

Let's face it, I'm stubborn and work myself to death. She reminds me I need to take a break and have some fun.

12. We like to discuss weddings, babies, and future things

This is a common thing among females, guys- just so you know.

14. My mom is a bit of a klutz.

I've lost count of the number of dishes and knick-knacks she's broken over the years.

15.My mom doesn't do GPS

She usually prints out directions via MapQuest, but sometimes those are a bit wonky. Usually we get to our destination.

16. She's a mom, so some of her-go-to phrases are a bit strange.

What even is a sugar-shoot?

17. We dance around the living room on occasion.

This happens a bit more often when Dancing with the Stars is on, but...

18. We laugh...a lot

For some reason we can make each other laugh in just about any circumstance.

19. She really loves me

And I love her, so much.

20. She says she's proud to be my mom

And I'm proud I'm her daughter.
