The GIF Olympics

But first let me watch this GIF

The GIF Olympics

There is something about this time of year when you are able to sit in front of the TV and watch in amazement as the most athletic people in the world compete for their countries. There are always the top sports that bring people joy to watch every Olympic season. Here are some of the best gifs from some of the different sports shown throughout the History of Olympics.

DIVING

After watching all these dives, all I can say is OW. As these athletes have probably trained more hours than I sleep in one night, I feel terrible that they couldn't nail their dives. At the same time they did create a bit of enjoyment for their audiences and then again for everyone on the internet.

SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMING

I don't know about you, but just by the looks of this gif I think I have been watching the wrong sports. I, for one, always thought synchronized swimming was boring, but this looks way more intense than I thought. I may have to add this to my to-watch list for the next Olympics.

BEACH VOLLEYBALL

These girls are a ball of fun! They never fail to pump up the crowd and they always tend to have a good time. They make watching the sport fun and they always tend to bust a move. As long as they don't bust their face in the sand.

FIELD HOCKEY OR SOCCER

This girl is just a tad bit scary and I, for one, would not want to play her. She makes Croatia look a bit fierce and I would probably run the other way if I saw her walking around town screaming at me. This face will definitely be on my to-avoid radar if I ever decide to head to Croatia.

BASKETBALL

I have watched a lot of basketball and I have never seen this move. I am pretty sure it is a new to the handbook. I would recommend that anyone playing France stay far away from this guy. And here I thought you didn't have to wear a cup in basketball.

SPEED WALKING

At first I thought this was a sport to see who had the best hip swing, but I now know that it is actually speed walking. The hip swing is totally normal. I'm pretty sure I have seen some of them at the mall.

TRACK

Everyone knows who Usain Bolt is and you can only imagine how it would feel to run at the speed he does. Track is always fun to watch because the race could change at any given minute.

The Olympics are special because they bring together a whole country and not select parts, and then they bring the whole world together to cheer for their select countries. The way these athletes train and give it 100% is always intense to watch. The Olympics are one of the best time of the year.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
