Lately, I've been short on ideas for when it comes to writing. Of course, I'm still documenting lessons and quotes like last year, but the longer thoughts aren't coming as natural as before. However, that doesn't mean I can't try to write. With that being said, here's a simple free write about what's going through my head.
What's life? Well, it depends on who you're asking. The amount of definitions are endless, and I'm sure your definition is different than the next person. My definition is simple. Life is an opportunity. That's it. What people do with that opportunity is up to them. Then again, one's opportunity is also different from person to person.
We're not all born in the same environment. Some opportunities are really easy to take while others not so much. Even so, every environment brings some form of opportunity. How we use that opportunity, the gift of life itself defines us as human beings.
Nobody can essentially confirm what happens after life, but there have been multiple ideas and beliefs about that idea. Everyone is entitled to their own belief and opinion. Therefore, I won't mention anything about them.
However, it seems that the amount of sensitivity in people has gone up drastically over the last couple of years especially shown in the recent 2016 Election, but I digress. I was and potentially still am a sensitive person, but when it comes down to it, you can't control the actions and thoughts of others. You can only control the actions and thoughts of yourself. Again, how one maintains and uses that control just defines one as a person.
The test of control for many people came during the race between in Trump and Clinton. Obviously, it caused sparked controversy to the point where the election is a better of two evils. Where controversy comes so does sensitivity.
Nowadays, it's hard to say an opinion without being challenged by somebody. Then again, the idea of a challenge is what makes us more intelligent in the long run. It's just that the challenge must be done properly and not be senseless like a screaming match. Nobody benefits from that sort of violence or any violence for that matter.
When you think about it. What's the source of violence? Emotion? Differences? Greed? Violence is a part of life which means that violence can be just as unpredictable and versatile. Any small discrepancy can add fuel to a much bigger fire. All it takes is for someone to light it. Wait. Doesn't it seem like the world is just one giant tinderbox?
Right now, there are so many world discrepancies that can be adding more fuel to the tinderbox except there is no match. Well, not yet anyway. The match has lit the world before throughout history and has left quite a burn, and it is up to the current generation to prevent it from happening once again because we've been adding the most fuel ever known.
I may seem down, but there is a bright side to this. Such fuel such power can be a benefit to the world if used correctly. Even fire is a necessity for survival. What's stopping the world from using its problems to make things better? The answer to that is simple. Excessive greed and selfishness have hindered other's opportunities in life. If humanity could somehow allow everyone to have a fair and equal opportunity to live their lives efficiently and happily, only then can the world be truly be saved from itself. It sounds impossible, but since when has humanity backed down from a challenge? Though this challenge is different. The challenge is to overcome our worst enemy of all.
Ourselves.
