Every girl goes through that stage of trying to round up a formal date. It is an anxious process. For one you don’t know if he will say yes, but more than likely he will, and two you don’t want to have to worry about entertaining him. My sorority semi-formal is this Saturday, and I decided to bring my friend from high school. He has a big personality and I know I will not have to worry about him having fun because this is not our first rodeo together when tackling a dance. Ladies, if your date can gobble and wobble you picked a winner! This night is supposed to be all about having a good time with your sisters.
When picking a formal a date you want to make sure he is Instagram approved, and by that I mean he’s attractive in his photos and should be for yours too. No one wants to take a guy who can’t rock the cute formal pictures. But sometimes your last resort is the guy who doesn’t have social media. Thats OKAY! Heres some advice from me: if he can’t hold his alcohol, then your night more than likely is a fail. It is also socially acceptable to take a gal pal, they are usually the most fun dance partners anyway. Go to the pregame and get a little buzzed, but still coherent to sign your name to get on the bus. Make sure you are able to walk, because the executive board will send you home. Also, don’t take your fake ID with you. You don’t want to get that taken away because you spent a hell of a lot of money on that little piece of plastic.
This night will be a lot different from senior prom and especially different from your freshman year of high school homecoming dance. Expect the unexpected. Like I said before, you are going to be consuming fruity drinks and maybe inhaling jello from 1oz. containers. Just make sure by the end of the night you have taken pictures that are social media ready. Remember to have fun.
