The End of Summer As Told By TV
Quotes Gram

Summer is coming to a close with the beginning of the new school year, and college students nationwide are all having similar thoughts and feelings about the end of summer. What better way to share these end-of-summer thoughts than with a little help from our favorite TV characters?

1. “How can summer be over when I’m still this pale? This is not good.”

You planned on tanning and getting that sun-kissed glow, but somehow you still look like a ghost. You have friends that are tanner than you and it's just not right.

2. “Wait … does this mean I have to go to class again?”

The end of summer means the beginning of a school year which means ... classes. You're either thankful you don't have any 8 a.m.s, or you have 8 a.m.s and you're just wallowing in self-pity right now; either way, just thinking about classes starting makes you stressed.

3. “I have to say all of my hometown goodbyes again?”

Summer seems to be just long enough so that it doesn't feel like a short visit, and you get used to hanging out with your hometown friends and family, but alas you must bid them adieu yet again.

4. “Are you suuuure I can’t bring the dog with me this year?”

Even worse than your human goodbyes are your pet goodbyes. Maybe if you just sneak them into the car and drive away quickly your family won't notice until it's too late?

5. “Wow, I def did not do half of the things I planned to do this summer.”

We had our summer bucket lists and were so hopeful for all that the summer would hold. While maybe you had a good summer, or maybe you didn't, chances are you didn't do everything you wanted to do, and it's kind of a bummer.

6. “I can’t believe I worked all summer.”

This may be the reason your summer bucket list was not all checked off, and it also probably made you feel like an adult working all day every day. We don't know when this adulting thing started, but we want it to stop.

7. “At least now I have money!”

The major perk of working all summer is that you are currently not a broke college kid. Still a college kid, still not rich, but you hopefully have a little spending money. Now how long that lasts is TBD.

8. “Guess who leaves in two days and hasn't packed for school yet … at all.”

Summer's coming to a close, school's starting and you ... haven't packed a thing. Your parents are probably annoyed that your college belongings are everywhere in rather large unorganized piles and you don't even know where to being packing, but you better figure it out soon because you have two days to get 'er done.

9. “But I’ll be reunited with all my school friends!”

The end of summer also means you get to see all of your beloved school friends so soon. You went the majority of the summer without seeing them besides on Snapchat, and you cannot wait to be reunited.

10. “And I’ll be back at my home away from home so soon.”

All summer you have been saying, "I can't wait to be back at school," and now the time has arrived. You love your school and are so excited to be walking, eating and living at your favorite place again. School spirit: on full blast.

11. “Farewell, summer. Thanks for the mem'ries.”

Till next year, summer.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
