The Emotional Stages Of A Bama Fan During The Natty

Emotions were all over the place on January 9, 2017 when the Alabama Crimson Tide played the Clemson Tigers in the 2017 National Championship game that had an outcome we never would have imagined.

After an undefeated conference season for the Alabama Crimson Tide and an SEC championship win against the Florida Gators, it is safe to say that Alabama fans had a positive mind at the start of the 2017 National Championship game against the Clemson Tigers. However, Clemson had some business to finish after last year’s defeat by the Crimson Tide in the 2016 National Championship game. The Natty this year had Alabama fans at the edge of their seats with mixed emotions that called for cheering and excitement, and for some, crying.

Confidence in Our Team

Everyday is a great day to be a student at The University of Alabama, however, this past season, it was especially great on game days! The winning became a second nature to the team and Alabama fans; we became so used to it that it did not come as a surprise each and every time Alabama took the win. With that being said, it is safe to say that Alabama fans were confident at the start of the Natty.

We got this, we are unstoppable

Within the first quarter Alabama scored the first touchdown taking the lead, then again in the second quarter making the score of the game 14-0 Alabama. Our defense was killing it and we were off to a good start.

Hm, Clemson is catching up...

Almost every Alabama football game this season, the scores were never close so when the score in the third quarter of the Natty was 17-14 Alabama, it became a little concerning.

Phew, we got a ten point lead, we will be fine

After number 88’s touchdown in the third quarter we were up by ten with the score being 24-14, now all we have to do is stay consistent on this road to 17.

That did not just happen

Clemson scores in the fourth quarter with fourteen minutes on the clock making the score 24-21. Alabama still in the lead, but cutting it super close.

Is Clemson really about to take the lead right now…..Is this seriously happening? Oh wait, no, nevermind, thank God.

Clemson’s number 4, Watson, was on his way towards the end zone for a touchdown that would ultimately put Clemson in the lead with five minutes on the clock. Luckily, it was out of bounds.

Okay, these last four minutes of the game just need to be over already...so anxious…

Clemson was in the lead by four points… Alabama had the ball, though. Fingernail biting and nervous pacing were going on around us all.

OMG YES, JALEN HURTS, YES

Jalen Hurts, number 2 with the touchdown that gave all Alabama fans hope that we could pull through and win this Natty!

Just when we thought it was going to be okay...and that we were okay...

Clemson was getting closer and closer to a touchdown that would defeat the Crimson Tide with just six seconds left...and we just could not stop them.

The final emotions of a Bama fan during the Natty would be a sense of shock and confusion, like as if we were experiencing an awful dream that we would wake up from with a win. We found ourselves asking the question, “How do handle defeat when all we did the entire season was defeat other teams?” I guess all we can do from here on out is call it a good game, and still be proud of the Alabama team members, and of course, Nick Saban. It is just a title, after all, we already have sixteen of them, and we beat Auburn. This gives us enough time to make room for another title in the walk of champions. It is still a great day to be an Alabama fan, because we go to the best school in the country, and in our eyes, we are still winning and rolling with the tide.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
