When it comes to Thanksgiving, everyone has their favorite dish. But, if we're being honest some are definitely better than others. As the clear expert on Thanksgiving cuisine, here's the definitive ranking of all Thanksgiving foods, by me. I'm sure you'll all agree.
8. Green Bean Casserole
Sorry, green bean casserole, but no. I have never in my life heard someone say that green bean casserole is their favorite dish and that's because it's nasty. Don't get me wrong, I love green beans and those little crispy onion things as much as the next person. But somehow green bean casserole managed to be the worst thing ever despite having so much going for it, which is why it's bottom on the list. Sucks to suck.
7. Turkey
Turkey might be the star of Thanksgiving, but it's just...fine...I guess? I mean I have no beef with turkey (no pun intended) but it's nothing special, especially compared to some of the other dishes. Like green bean casserole, I've never heard anyone say turkey was their favorite dish at Thanksgiving. It basically tastes like chicken, just a little different. I already eat chicken like every Monday. It's boring. Next.
6. Rolls
I love rolls, but I can eat them whenever. I can get them Easter, Christmas, Tuesday. The fact that they're not an exclusive Thanksgiving food makes them rank lower on my list.
5. Mashed Potatoes
Mashed potatoes are creamy, yummy, and most importantly: potatoes. Who doesn't love potatoes?? Add some gravy and boom you're in Heaven, congrats.
4. Stuffing
STUFFING IS A STAR. You can do so much with stuffing. You want is spicy? You got it! Want it with sausage? No problem. What about even oysters? Apparently. You do you. Stuffing doesn't judge.
3. Cranberry Sauce
Lemme tell you about my friend, cranberry sauce. Cranberry sauce is good on its own, or mixed with your turkey, your stuffing, literally anything else on your plate. You could just cover your whole plate in this yummy, tart goodness and it'd be fine. Cranberry sauce could probably make even green bean casserole taste palatable.
2. Sweet Potato Casserole
THIS is how you do a casserole, alright? Sweet potato casserole is a gift from God himself. It's like a dessert for dinner. THERE ARE MARSHMALLOWS ON IT. If you don't like this delicacy, you can fight me.
1. Pie
Pie is the true, official MVP of Thanksgiving. You've got Apple, Pumpkin, AND Pecan (and that is my ranking of the three). Let's be honest, all Thanksgiving dinner you're just counting down the minutes till you can get in on some of that sweet pie action.
