I Will Not Be Browsing The Dark Web

Who else DOES NOT wish to visit it?

Besides being in love with news in general and being able to express myself freely, I have a deep obsession with mysteries, crime, and just all around creepy things. However, I know my limits and there are some things I just cannot get on board with.

For a long while, I had always heard of the deep and dark web, but I just thought it was simply darker, more sinister content. Well, it is, but I thought anyone could easily access it. This is not the case. Things on that part of the internet are so extreme and a lot of times incriminating that anyone HAS to have certain browsing software to be able to access the content. This detail alone helped me realize that I do not want anything to do with this part of the web.

I've only been on this earth for 21 years, and yes, I have a lot to experience and still a great amount to learn. I know that rape, murder, kidnappings, drug smuggling, and countless other things occur every single day around the clock. But actually WATCHING it happen with my own two eyes is not something I care to do now Or in the future. Some people may think in a way I'm shielding myself from reality and I will accept that 100%! I hear about it enough on the news and social media; I don't need to actually see it.

Also, as early as yesterday, I discovered a trend among YouTubers. I'm not sure how old this trend is, but basically YouTubers purchase packages from anonymous sellers that include creepy, questionable items. I personally viewed a video in which a screwdriver was placed in a plastic bag and appeared to have small amounts of blood on it. Fake or not, this really made me uncomfortable and further confirmed any questions I had about possibly surfing the dark web.

Additionally, there is apparently lots of information about the world, governments, and drugs. These particular topics do not bother me as much as the thought of people being harmed, especially those who do not deserve it. Corrupt governments are no surprise for me, that's what several of them were built on. Drug use and smuggling is not something I condone, but a direct threat to humans and children is what I care about much more.

If you are a person who wants to browse that part of the web, I can't tell you "no". All I have to say is be careful, ask yourself exactly what you are looking for, and if you can handle what all that comes with it.

To all, be good and do good.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
