Whether you're a sophomore, junior, senior, alumni, prospective student, or freshman arriving on Hawk Hill this August, there are 20 "secret things" and by this I mean, things only SJU students know during their time on this beautiful campus in Philadelphia. They are:

1. Everyone takes Instagram pictures of Barbelin tower looking "beautiful" no matter the season

This tower really is a dime.

2. The library is abbreviated to "Club Lib"

No joke. There's an "old side" where you can hear a pin drop or the "new side" where it's like a watering hole because everyone and their brother hangs out there.

3. Hawk wraps are considered your main food group

So bad for you, but so good.

4. Vineyard Vines, Tory Burch, J. Crew or any other preppy clothing item is basically the dress code

5. People drink more Starbucks than water

No joke.

6. Campion has the worst food

I'm not going to sugar coat it for anyone. Campion is gross.

7. You can NEVER get a parking spot

Have an 8 a.m., 9 a.m., or even a 1:25 p.m. class? Forget parking in the Campion parking lot, Merion side of campus, or at Haub. You might as well hitchhike from your house.

8. We have lots of clubs

Seriously, if you're new to SJU, go to the activities fair. You will definitely find something you like!

9. Class registration is like the Hunger Games

Need I say more?

10. THWND is said more than your own name

The hawk will truly never die.

11. We have the most diverse and inclusive community

It really feels like home on this campus.

12. We have a great Greek life community

Whether this isn't "your thing" go check all of the fraternities or sororities out at the activities fair. Who knows, you could be a "brother" or "sister" at some point during your college career.

13. SJU has some of the most ridiculous GEP requirements

Moral Foundations, Texts and Contexts, Math Beauty, etc. The list goes on.

14. We have amazing professors

No joke, the professors who I have either taken one class with inspired me to be in the areas of study that I'm currently in. Get to know them because they truly are like your "second parents" at college.

15. DB workers are as chill as DJ Khaled

I can't tell you how many times my favorite cashier lady and I talked about how the "struggle is real," on a Monday morning at 9 a.m.

16. We have an amazing business school

The programs and the professors are awesome. The building is also pretty swanky.

17. Basketball is SJU's sport

Ball is life on our campus. However, we do have a lot of amazing D-1 teams such as crew.

18. The Pod has everything your heart desires

Food, tissues, hand sanitizer, to hats, this store has it all.

19. MRT is SJU's "it" phrase

Mad River Thursday in Manayunk. Everyone's favorite day of the week.

20. You will meet your best friends at this school

All of these things are what makes Hawk Hill such a magical place.
