To the Boy Who Loves Me Next

I want to be able to tell you that it will be easy, but I know it won't. I know that I can be difficult to love. I'm not saying that to belittle myself, but to inform you of the truth. I can overreact and overthink almost every situation. I will question your feelings, only because I haven't been introduced to true love. I haven't had the best of luck when it comes to boys, and I question if the next will hurt me the same. Please, be patient with me. I will try to do everything to make you happy, and sometimes I might try too hard. I will cling to you, and it may become annoying at some point. I will push all your buttons, even if you tell me to stop. Sometimes you might question why you are with me. I can assure you that I have already thought that same thing. I will need time to assure myself that you are here to stay. I am often hurt by people leaving from my life. I have never had a true constant person in my life. That is why I will be skeptical when you tell me that you will be. Understand where I am coming from instead of getting annoyed at my constant questioning.

I am not an easy person to love, and I am aware of that. However, I will give you every ounce of love I have to give. I will cherish every little moment we share together. I will never tell you how I truly feel, because I am awful at that kind of thing. I don't know how to tell you about my feelings. I'm scared of feeling vulnerable. I'm scared of letting you in, only to have you leave. If you are patient with me, I will soon tell you everything. I will never allow myself to cry in front of you, for the same reasons. I want you to see me a strong, independent woman. I don't want you to see how broken I truly am on the inside. Please, just give me time. I am a complicated person, and I know I am. I just need you to understand that I have been through so much pain. I now feel as though I have to protect myself. I get scared, and I tend to push people away, please, don't allow me to do this. I will distance myself, and tell you that I am fine. I will try to make you mad, so you will leave. Please, push through. I get scared of being hurt, that I ruin my happiness. This way, I am making you leave before you get too close to me. Don't allow me to do this, reassure me that you are here to stay. Don't allow me to ruin something great over fear. It may not make sense to you, and I apologize.

You will get annoyed with me, so easily. I will tell you awful jokes, that only I will find funny. I might tell you 1,000 of them, each one making me laugh harder. I will ask for a kiss anytime you get angry with me. I do this to try to ease the situation, and to make sure that this isn't the argument to end us. I will cuddle to you when you ask me not to. I will make you watch shows you hate, just because I want to watch them. I will press my cold hands on your neck, even when you yell and tell me to stop. I will push every single one of your buttons. Its not because I want you angry at me, it is just my sense of humor. I like to pass boundaries, and see how much I can get away with.

I will get jealous easily. I will always worry that you might leave me for another girl, who might make you happier than I can. This doesn't mean I don't trust you. I will put all my trust into you, and believe every word you tell me, and sometimes that's why I get hurt. I ignore my brain, and cling to every word my heart says. When I fall for you, I turn into the typical stupid girl who keeps coming back. Please, don't take advantage of my love.

If you truly love me, be patient.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
