I have watched the news a few times in the last month or less, and one big issue that is always on there is this EpiPen price hike. Then, I watched the first ever episode for me of Dr. Oz because the topic on it that day was about the EpiPen outrage. He had a few mothers on there talking about how chaotic this new price is. This one mother said she is turning away her medicines just to be able to get her son's EpiPen that he so desperately needs. Then another went on to say that she is used to budgeting out the cost of her families living with all their expenses, but now almost cannot even afford to have her child be put through school because she has to pay these outrageous prices for EpiPens for this child. What is this world coming to? I feel like it is just getting worse and worse by the day. This economy and cost of living will be the death of us all maybe one day.

Mylan Pharmaceuticals, the company that manufactures the EpiPen, claims that they did not increase the price all at once and that they do not even get all of the money profited from everyone that has to buy it. Well, where does it go then?! The price went from $100 to $608. That is insane! It seems that the company or whoever is increasing the price is trying to put a price on a life! This is a life-saving medicine and you are making people practically go bankrupt and no longer be able to afford to live because of what and why exactly!? Even the generic EpiPen is $300. People cannot afford that either. Generic, off-brand medicines should be offered at a much lower cost, especially for people that require these EpiPens to survive.

Well, luckily Dr. Oz on this episode of his show talked about what you can do to cheat this new system. He had a woman on there talking about the way to get affordable EpiPens is to use the unknown medicine that is the exact same, but just has a very different name...Adrenaclick. It is made with Epinephrine just like the EpiPens are and comes in the same dosage and packaging of a two pack. They even tell you where to go to get a good price on the unknown EpiPen that is Adrenaclick. So, I encourage all of you parents or anyone who uses EpiPens for a live-threatening allergy to go to Dr. Oz's website (DoctorOz.com). The episode dated September 29, 2016 will provide you with more information about how you can cheat these greedy people out of the price hike they have infested upon us and affordably survive an allergic reaction.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
