Whether it’s cuddling up by the fireplace while sipping hot chocolate, or settling down to watch ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas, there is no doubt that the month of December brings nothing but endless joy and spirit.

Children grow anxious as they mail their wish lists to the North Pole, hoping Santa hasn’t put them on the naughty list, while parents stress over in-laws and the five months of bills that will soon pile up. However, no matter the circumstances, Christmas will always remain a miracle within itself.

Here are a few ways to spread the holiday spirit and ensure everyone around you has something to be joyful about.

Make Gingerbread houses with friends!

It’s not every day that you can get together with your whole squad and put your imagination to the test! Construct a mansion of gumdrops and peppermints and let the creativity flow. There’s nothing better than a little quality time with friends, even if it means you devour the whole gingerbread and candies before your masterpiece is complete!

Decorate the family Christmas tree

As we grow older and leave the nest, we tend to leave behind all the childhood traditions that helped us grow into the people we are today. However, taking a trip down memory lane, hanging the handmade ornaments from kindergarten will only bring happiness to yourself and your entire family.

Chug some eggnog and pig out on those peppermint patties!

Alright, maybe don’t chug the eggnog too quickly (unless you want a stomach ache), but definitely have some! Even if you don’t like it, give it a try. And forget the diet plan you had started this month… that can be your new year's resolution!

Go ice skating!

There’s nothing better than laughing at yourself and others as they stumble across a slippery skating rink.

Binge watch Christmas movies

Besides sickness and rainy days, a movie marathon during the holiday season is a necessity! So cozy up on the couch with friends, family, or someone special and challenge yourself to how many of the Christmas classics you can watch in one day!

Host an ugly sweater party

No one enjoys staying in during this time of holiday cheer! Invite your friends over and their dates for a Yankee swap, ugly sweater party, and have yourselves a tipsy celebration!

Kiss under a mistletoe

Admit it, we’ve all wished not only for that new year's kiss but also the cliché tradition that happens under the watch of a few green leaves and a single red berry.

Believe

No matter your age or lack of imagination, believing in something has the power to change your entire outlook on life. Anything is possible as long as you believe.

Don’t be naughty this holiday season, make miracles happen for loved ones around you and spread that holiday cheer!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
