21 Ways To Do Autumn In Atlanta

Ah, that time of year in Atlanta when you wake up shivering, and by afternoon- sweating. Autumn. The season of cinnamon broomsticks, everyone's carnival photos congesting your Instagram feed, and yes, the PSL. (If you can't beat em', join em'. Pumpkin and coffee are great together, okay?) Canceled classes, fall breaks, and fair weather mean adventures among the changing leaves. So loop that flannel around your waist and get ready to check off your Atlanta Autumn Bucket List- squad in tow, of course.

1. Stone Mountain Pumpkin Festival

2. Interactive Sleepy Hollow Yes, the Headless Horseman can get creepier in Serenbe Playhouse's spooky audience-involved classic.

3. Coffee and Sweets at Revolution Doughnuts A sweet carrot cake or orange pistachio complemented with a cup of black coffee is the best food for your fall adventure fuel.

4. Take a walk through Centennial Olympic Park It might be too cold to play in them, but you can still catch the fountain light show (and the park is always so lovely this time of year).

5. Taste of Atlanta 3-Day Food Festival

6. Visit Little Five Points Catch the parade, some live music, or just browse around admiring the many festively themed storefronts while thrifting your Rocky Horror-inspired Halloween costume.

7. Get a Pumpkin Spice Latte at Copper Coin

8. See a Movie At Starlight Drive-In Theater

9. Hike a Waterfall Trail There's a whole assortment of them, a shorter drive away than you think! Check out a quick list here.

12. Grab a slice of Pumpkin Bread at Caribou Coffee

13. Take a short day trip to Burt's Farm Just a short drive from Atlanta you'll find Burt's Farm, which offers both hayrides and a massive pumpkin patch.

14. Wake up early and get brunch at West Egg

15. Take in the Atlanta skyline on top of Ponce City Market (and enjoy some friendly mini golf competition at the new Skyline Park now that the weather has cooled down).

16. Tons of colleges are doing their fall productions! Snag cheap ticket prices and support local theatre:

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
