If you are a college student you most likely go out. One thing every college student has in common is looking forward to the weekend, and whether you're a bar person or club type you most definitely know that feeling when an absolute jam comes on and everyone around you goes insane. I can almost guarantee you that every college kid born in the 90s will attest to the fact that a throwback is always the way to go. Yes we love our Fetty Wap, but hit us with that "Sweet Caroline" and everyone is guaranteed to go wild. Being 90s babies we hold our summer hits of the 90s and 2000s close to heart and the DJ at every one of our favorite bars and clubs knows it.
1. "Sweet Caroline"-Neil Diamond
An absolute classic, you probably first heard it in the car with your parents or something when you were younger. I'm pretty sure every night I've gone out in college thus far a DJ has played it and I've never seen a bunch of college kids go harder at a bar then ever before. "Sweet Caroline" just really gets us pumped up I guess, especially when the DJ stops the music so all you hear is everyone yelling "SO GOOD SO GOOD."
2. "Ignition"-R.Kelly
This was always the go to jam in high school and I'm so happy it has carried over into college. This song basically does all the talking, I don't even think I can do it justice it is just too good. When this comes on at the club you best believe everyone will be singing every word.
3. "It wasn't Me"-Shaggy
Literally I have no comment. This song is the ultimate throwback jam of our time. #1 in my eyes.
4. "Hot In Here"-Nelly
Pretty sure the first time I heard this song was when I was in the 4th grade so this song has definitely come a long way. Nelly was the Fetty Wap of those days. If you are out anywhere and it's hot and packed, the DJ just knows this song will do the trick.
5. "Move Along"-All American Rejects
This song definitely changes things up at the bar and everyone always loves it.
6. "Stacy's Mom"-Fountains of Wayne
Growing up with a hot mom this song has made an impact on my life especially. College kids live for this, whenever it comes on you most likely turn to your friends and you channel your middle school self.
7. "Hollaback Girl"-Gwen Stefani
Every white girl friend group goes into this song, and you can't even deny it. Moment of silence for Gwen Stefani teaching us all how to spell bananas.
8. "Get Low"-Lil John
Everyone will most likely be pointing to the window and to the wall of the establishment you are in, guaranteed.
9. "Gold Digger"-Kanye West
Kanye can do no wrong. If you don't know every word to this song you can't even call yourself a millennial.
10. "Party in the USA"-Miley Cyrus
This one isn't even old, it's just too good to not be played. Even the guys love this one. I think people love it so much just because it's everyone's favorite Miley Cyrus era.
