The Best Roommates are the Messiest ones....

Here are some tips on how to deal with a messy roommate because if you are a really neat person, you probably need some ideas (written from the perspective of a messy person).

1. Be understanding

Not everyone can be as neat and perfect as you, so cut these messy people some slack.

2. Feel free to offer them a lending hand

You're the expert right?? Well, if so, then feel free to help them out, because they need the help, and you can't stand the mess...


3. If you begin to feel extremely claustrophobic or begin to have an anxiety attack because of the extreme mess in the room...it is probably best to leave


4. Don't expect your room to look like a catalogue

cuz it won't.

(this will not be your room)

5. If you're taking pictures of your room and plan on sending them to friends or instagramming it...leave out your messy roommate's side

Because nobody is going to be impressed by that



6. If the room is so messy that you trip on something and hurt yourself...don't blame the roommate

This is a hard one...but try to look at it as a positive...the messiness could be a safety precaution?



7. Even if your room starts to look messy, it will always be neat compared to your roommate's



8. Because your roommate is super messy, they will probably unintentionally borrow your stuff

This is bound to happen because the messy person won't be able to find their stuff. Try not to be upset and always have extra shampoo on hand...

9. Embrace your inner messiness

Everyone has a messy side, right? Well now your roommate is allowing you to bring that side out!


10. Your roommate is probably still a good person

Even though she's messy and probably drives you up a wall, you still have to love her because this is just who she is and she's trying....even if it doesn't seem like it.
