To The Best Parents The World Has To Offer

To the two most incredible people I get to call my mom and dad.

To The Best Parents The World Has To Offer

Mom and Dad,

Thank you. Just, thank you. You do not know how much you mean to me and how much I love you.

To start, you are always there for me when I need you. Always. And if you are busy when I need to talk, you find the time somehow to still be there for me. Without you, I do not know where I would be today.

Mom- from obsessing over “The Good Wife” and “How To Get Away With Murder” to hour-long conversations about anything and everything, I can count on you to lift my spirits and make me feel like the most beloved daughter in the world. You plan the perfect day trips for days off and always make the most out of every single day in the most unexpected days. The way you are able to handle anything and everything I need is a wonder all in itself. You can really do it all- and for that I am so, so grateful.

Dad- I can always count on you for a quick text about the Mets or just anything random for that matter. Being able to talk to you about everything sports related always takes my mind off of whatever is stressing me out at the time. Just this morning, when I was home for Fall Break I felt at home just by talking with you about the MLB postseason. (How about the Cubs, am I right?) But, aside from sports, you can also tell when anything is wrong- sometimes you figure it out before I even know that I am upset about something. It is quite a gift. You know when to talk about things and when not to and help me out in ways I cannot even describe.

You both are the best parents anyone could ever have- I mean it. I know everyone says that they have the best parents- but they all have it wrong. They do not have you. You two have gotten me through everything life has thrown at me, everything life has thrown at all of us. The both of you are the most caring, selfless people I have ever met and for that I love you so, so much.

So thank you, Mom and Dad. Thank you for everything. I hope one day I can repay you for everything you have done for me everything second of my life. I hope one day I can be as incredible as the both of you combined.

Love you,

KC

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
