The 13 Best Adam Sandler Movies

It's a Friday night, I have multiple papers to work on, and exams to study for when it came on, Adam Sandler's "the Longest Yard"... how could I say no? Two of my favorite things, comedy and football, the dynamic duo.

With that, here are his best films that we have all enjoyed.

1. Happy Gilmore

One of my all-time favorites. He was an angry, sweat pants - wearing, hockey - player - turned - golfer. If you did not enjoy this movie, you are dead to me. Side note, he was the original spokesman for Subway sandwiches, they probably should have kept him on that instead of that other guy...

2. Billy Madison

If you have ever been around an empty keg, you have lifted over your head just as Billy did in the film. I am still looking for that penguin.

3. Crazy Nights

The only animated movie on this list, also a widely under appreciated movie from the early 2000s. Sandler does many of the main characters voices. It is a great counter to Will Ferrell's "Elf" during the Christmas season.

4. The Longest Yard

A funnier version of the Burt Reynolds 1970s film. Many of the players are either former football stars or professional wrestlers. My personal favorite is the Boz wearing his OU number, 44.

5. 50 First Dates

One of the many films in which the love story is between Sandler and Drew Barrymore. The lisp of Sean Astin is irreplaceable in this movie.

6. Blended

Another love story between Sandler and Barrymore. The best part(s) of this movie are the subtle references to numerous prior movies.

7. The Waterboy

Sandler's first football movie, he is a repressed young man that has a great deal of tackling fuel. If you did not already think that Henry WInkler was an odd guy, the Waterboy would confirm that thought.

8. The Wedding Singer

One of the first times that Sandler and Barrymore would act together. This spoof of 1980s quirkiness, it reminds me of the clothes that I have seen of my parents high school attire, praise the Lord that is not still the style.

9. Big Daddy

When I was 5 years old, my grandfather took me to see this movie instead of one of the Dalmatians movies. Upon my return to my parents house, I uttered the phrase, "Mom, I can wipe my own ass!" I was not allowed to go to the movies with my grandpa for awhile after that...

10. Little Nicky

"You gotta eat the Popeyes' chicken, let it slide down your throat." You just read that and heard the raspy voice of Nicky. The son of satan is actually a lovable loser.

11. Mr. Deeds

THIS IS HOW ALL RICH PEOPLE SHOULD ACT!

12. That's My Boy

I have compared Samburg to Sandler since the first time I saw a poorly edited Lonely Island video. They also had similar comedic roles during their tenures on Saturday Night Live. How this did not win awards, I will never understand.

13. You Don't Mess With the Zohan

Definitely one of the weirdest movies Sandler has done, but it is still hilarious. A military bad-ass turned hair stylist, it is a win every time.

Until the next Sandler classic, enjoy these!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
