1. Freaks and Geeks
Freaks and Geeks is a 1999 comedic teen-drama set in the 1980s. The show follows the lives of a group of seven teenagers divided into two social groups, the freaks and the geeks. Linked only by the brother-sister bond of star characters, Lindsay and Sam Weir, the two gangs attempt to navigate their ways through high school, relationships and social statuses. The show unfolds amidst a hilarious cast featuring names such as James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jason Segel and John Francis Daley – just to name a few.
The comedic drama consists of 18 episodes all from one season; you’ll find yourself flying through the shows without the stress of wondering if you’ll ever reach the unfeasible finale. These burnouts may not care about their “Bad Reputations,” but you’ll find yourself soon taken by their infectious humor and relatable struggles.
2. Preachers’ Daughters
Preachers’ Daughters is a reality TV show that follows the lives of several young women growing up in Christian households with fathers who preach. The show captures the inside scoop on the girls,’ and the fathers,’ stances on common social temptations and pressures in society; the docu-soap also capture how the girls choose to deal with their temptations, which more often than not, brings about some entertaining circumstances. The show is filled with humor, life lessons and emotional progressions amidst the featured families.
The two seasons currently available on Netflix each consist of ten, 41-minute episodes making it totally do-able to complete a season in just a short couple of binge-sessions. The third season recently aired on Lifetime over the course of Jan. 2015, to April 2015, and is not yet uploaded to the site. However, the season contains 11 episodes and is expected to appear on the popular streaming site in the near future.

3. Mixology
If you’re crunched for time and looking for a way to blow off some steam, and really, just laugh – look no further than Mixology. The comedy originally aired in 2013 on ABC, and is set entirely within a single night at a downtown bar. The show follows the lives of ten young adults, five men and five women, looking for love. At any given moment, the characters can be found voicing their grievances over shots of tequila and strategic eye-cues. Follow the stories of these ‘young and determined’ on their 13-episode journey through the bar. With each episode capping at just 21 minutes, you’ll have plenty of time in your schedule to sit down to a couple of comical episodes.

4. The Carrie Diaries
The best thing about The Carrie Diaries is that it’s one of those shows you can watch on your own, or with a group of your friends. Comment on Sebastian’s timeless style, fawn over Carrie’s dream internship and cringe over Dorrit’s awkward, I-hate-everything-but-eyeliner stage. The show captures a refreshing outlook on teenage life that allows you to relax and absorb all the alluring moments in the show (*Hint: It may have something to do with the fact that Carrie is 18, and manages to rock heels, her internship, and school on a daily – the girl’sinspiring.) This Sex and the City spin-off consists of just two seasons with 13 episodes a set, each episode lasting around 41 minutes. Grab some popcorn, a couch, and enjoy of night of fabulous entertainment.

5. The Office
No other TV show can compare to the living legend itself: The Office. This one requires little description. This comedy show has been pressing the boundaries of humor and creating memorable moments in television for over the course of nine seasons. Why should it appeal to you? Other than the amazing cast and hysterical dialogue, each show lasts just 21 minutes. And although it’s encouraged, you don’t have to watch the show chronologically in order to end up crying from laughter by the end of it. Bring friends, or set aside time for yourself: Either way, you can’t go wrong with The Office.
