OK, I'm going to say it. Don't take it the wrong way. Please just hear me out: Brooke and Peyton didn't have the best friendship of "One Tree Hill."
Don't get me wrong, B. Davis and P. Sawyer saw some good moments, and they really did love each other, and saved each others life at times (like the time the crazy stalker guy tried to kill them) but I'm here to advocate for the behind the scenes friendship, the one that was steady and always there.... Haley and Brooke.
Haley helped Brooke grow into the person she was meant to be, and Brooke helped Haley step out of her comfort zone. Their friendship grew every season, and in the later years, became the only certain thing that either of them had. If you need some help to remember here are a few moments worth re-living.

And from that moment I knew that I wanted Brooke to be my friend. Not because she was gonna make me popular, and not because boys would start asking me out, but because I got a glimpse of the real Brooke. A girl with the biggest heart that I have ever known. And you know, when you’re in high school, it’s not very easy to let people see who you really are. I could see it though, it was in the eyes. So we became friends, and now she’s my best friend."
When they re-opened Karen's cafe together

In the words of P. Sawyer - "People always leave"
But Haley and Brooke did not.
