The new year is in full swing and, if you're like most people, working out more, losing weight or just being healthier in general is on your resolution list. To aid in those resolutions, here are a few popular fitness apps that you can download for your phone to help stay motivated and hopefully stay true to those resolutions!
Nike Training Club
This is probably the best free workout app available. You can choose whether you want to "Get Lean" (cardio), "Get Toned" (light weights and cardio), "Get Strong" (high weights) or "Get Focused" (15-minute circuits to target specific areas). Within those categories, you can choose either the beginner, intermediate or advanced level where you are then given a minute-by-minute follow-along routine complete with a timer and everything!
Full Fitness
While this one isn't free, the price of $2.99 isn't much! This is similar to Nike Training Club, but also breaks down some exercises based on muscle groups to introduce you to new exercises you may have never tried.
The 7-Minute Workout
This is a good workout to use as an end of a workout "burn out" session for a little something extra. At just seven minutes long, it's easy to motivate yourself to complete it. Anyone running short on time can also easily fit in these workouts.
Sworkit
This app lets you choose a strength, cardio, yoga or stretch workout that ranges from five minutes to an hour, depending on how much time you have.
Daily Workouts
This app comes in various forms (abs, legs, arms, cardio, etc.), and lets you choose either a five or 10-minute follow-along workout that targets a specific area.
Nike Running
This is one of my favorite apps and is super easy to use! It acts as a GPS and tracks your mileage as you run. You can even set a distance goal to run, and it will tell you when you've reached the halfway point of your run. This app also gives you your time per mile, average pace and can connect with your iTunes!
It is pretty hard to come up with an excuse as to why you aren't working out when there are so many endless possibilities. Try one or all of these apps next time you feel like you're in a workout rut and see what a difference they can make!
