How Gary Johnson Could Potentially Save the Country in the Election That's Scaring Literally Everyone

Cheers everyone,

It’s September of 2016 so we have two (yep, only two) months until ....... (drumroll please) ....... the Presidential Election!

Now, the 2016 Presidential Election is pretty scary for many Americans because we’re forced to choose between Donald Trump, a racist, homophobic, KKK-endorsed bully, and Hillary Clinton, a corrupt and morally ambiguous politician. (I mean, is that really the best we could do, America?) So, rather than choosing between two relatively good choices, the country is left to vote for the lesser evil. At the end of the day, this election is tearing us apart rather than uniting us, which is what we really should be doing in a time like this.

According to polls, 66% of the country even said that they would vote for anyone other than Trump or Clinton. (Me too.) But what they probably don’t know is that there is actually another choice! (Whaaaaaaat?) Yes! There are actually two other options for the moderately-positioned people of America to choose from for the position of the President of the United States of America! Their names are Jill Stein and Gary Johnson.

Since I like to stay up-to-date regarding politics and the news, I did some research on the other candidates. During that process, Johnson stood out to me. Not just because our political views are so similar, but because there’s a revolution that has begun to add him to the candidate debates. Now, you’re probably thinking to yourself: “It’s highly unlikely for someone in the third party to win the election.” I got some reasons why that is not the case today.

Firstly, it has been shown through previous races, Johnson appeals to everyone! He is the Governor of New Mexico, a Republican who won the vote in a Democratic state. Second, Johnson will be on the ballot in all 50 states. All eligible voters have the choice to vote for this guy! Lastly, the Internet is fairly new and extremely powerful. Billions of people use the Internet, connecting the world and spreading news faster than ever. Using this tool, we could easily raise awareness of a certain candidate and make a difference in the upcoming election!

If we raise awareness about this highly qualified, popular candidate just enough, it is possible that he could be added to the presidential debates and even win against his lesser qualified competitors. Then, even more people would be educated about him!

Since I’ve told you why he has a chance and I can tell you’re interested by the fact that you’re still reading, I’ll tell you his credentials and what he stands for.

Governor Johnson

  • Is pro-choice
  • Supports gay rights
  • Has cut taxes 14 times in New Mexico
  • Supports consumption tax (rather than having to pay taxes the more you make, one pays the more they spend)
  • Fiscally conservative, socially inclusive

Still interested? Good. Want to know how to join the cause? Even better.

  • If you’re actually a registered voter, BalancedRebellion.com will pair you up with someone who would vote for the opposite candidate (if there were no third party) and you will both commit to vote for Johnson. Let’s make the Johnson army grow!
  • Spread the word! Sign petitions! (You can even donate if you are so inclined!) The more people know about the third party candidate, the more likely we can add him to the debates. And the sooner we get him into the debates, the less likely we have to deal with Trump or Hillary!

Hope I could inform you a lil bit about one of our third party candidates and even entertain you. :)

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
