#6. Akshardham Temple
This iconic temple attracts tourists all around the world. Located in New Delhi, capital of India, it is a Swaminarayan Temple. These temples are located all over the world, and are beloved to the Hindu culture due to its intricate carvings of Indian mythology deities, gods, flowers, animals, etc. Inside the temple are the most beautiful statues of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. What is more astounding is that the temple is made entirely out of stone and marble based on the traditional hindu beliefs. The temple looks even more gorgeous during the night (picture above) when the temple is lit. No matter what religion, this is a must-see attraction for everyone.
#5. Golden Temple - Harmandir Sahib Temple
#4. Largest Sundial in the World - Jantar Mantar, Jaipur
That's right! The largest sundial in the world is located right here in India in Jaipur! Constructed in the 18th Century by Maharaja Jai Singh. Even with its huge structure and enormous weight, the time told by this sundial only lags by two seconds compared to the local time! Unbelievable! You think it would be slower due to its large size, but nope!
#3. Cellular Jail
This once jail built by the British during their reign, is now a memorial for all the freedom fighters who fought during the Indian Revolution for their fight for independence. 628 dark jail cells that were once filled by many famous names put into jail for their revolutionary literature, protests, artwork, etc. Anything to win their fight for independence. This is worth seeing, because it is a part of Indian history that has happened quite recently, less than 100 years ago. A mark of Indian pride in winning and overcoming one of the world's greatest superpowers.

#1. Taj Mahal (One of the Seven Wonders of the World)
And the must-see wonder of India is definitely the Taj Mahal, one of the actual seven wonders of the world. This monument was built in 1632 by Mughal Shah Jahan. He built this beauty for his favorite late wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal is now a tomb for him and Mumtaz Mahal. This attractions gets 7-8 million visitors a year. After being built, Shah Jahan pulled an infamous move and cut off the arms of every single worker that helped build the Taj Mahal, so it could never be copied. Maybe his workers could explain how he had built it, but it would never be the same as building it by hand.
India has so many more architectures and natural beauties besides these seven. India is one of the oldest heritages in the world along with majority of the population believing in the world's oldest religion, Hinduism. A combination of this creates an ancient culture that has a history that can be both happy and tragic. All of these buildings have a story behind them, and I suggest that you travel to India to learn about its modern and ancient culture, people, and heritage.
