The 4 Best Ways to Enjoy Nature this Fall

After a year in lockdown, more people simply want to be outside, enjoying nature and the change in seasons is not a deterrent.

People who normally huddle inside now look outside for activities to pursue this fall. Fortunately there are a lot of activities available that have until now only been enjoyed by a selected few all season outdoor enthusiasts, who choose to brave the weather in the appropriate gear and keep experiencing nature.

Below are 4 of the best ways new and experienced nature enthusiasts can enjoy nature this fall.

Hiking

Hiking doesn't cost anything. It's simply you, your good shoes, some water if it's a long hike, a good sense of direction and your favorite companion. Most people opt for their fur babies, who enjoy the adventure just as much.

Fall is often the perfect time for a long or short hike. The weather is cooler and the ground is not as wet. The hike can be a nice way to meditate and focus on affirmations or it can be a nice picnic lunch to enjoy at the summit before coming back down.
If the park allows off leash pets, your fur baby can enjoy the adventure off leash and interact with other pets as you hike. It is important to check with the rules and follow them so that your pet is always safe. Do not let your pet off leash in an area that does not allow it, is unsafe or has wild animals that could harm them.

Biking

A bike ride is an ideal fall activity especially since the weather is cooler. You can choose to go mountain bike riding on a bike trail or a scenic fall bike ride. Make sure you polish up your mountain biking techniques if you are mountain biking for safety.

Before you go on your bike ride, check your local website and map for important announcements in the area you are visiting. Make sure it is good for riding so that you enjoy yourself. If you will be riding a long distance, it is important to carry some funds with you and identify convenience stores along your route where you can buy refreshments and snacks for energy. Remember biking is extremely energy intensive and you should always have enough water and snacks for your ride regardless of whether it is a scenic or active ride.

Photography and Art

There is no time like fall to brush up on your photography or art skills. Fall is such a beautiful and inspiring time of year for you to find visually captivating subjects, although all subjects are inspiring to commit to your art set.

Take your camera and explore different places, learn their history and capture these moments. You can also take your sketchbook or portable easel and paint to paint your favorite scene.

Make sure you have access to your favorite beverage while you work.

Camping, Kayaking and Stargazing

These are not just for supper. In fact, camping and kayaking are ideal for fall too. This is the best time because Campgrounds have more space and you can also take your telescope so that you can go stargazing at night, who knows you may discover a new planet.

You can spend your day kayaking and then come back to camp for dinner, once you've had your dinner and freshened up you can set up your telescope or download an app on your phone for stargazing if you prefer not to leave your tent.

Fall is simply the best season to get outdoors and enjoy nature.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
