The 3 S's Every High School Student Wants To Manage

If you're in high school, these three things are probably what you want to manage.

We have 180 days of school each year. That's about 4,320 hours of school. We only have 24 hours each day. In those 24 hours, we lose about 8 hours each day being at school. Let's say we start school around 8am and end around 4pm. After we come home we have a solid 11 hours till we go back to school again. In those 16 hours we have to be able to manage our time with many things during this period.

1. Social Life

As high schoolers, we want to be able to manage our social life which basically means spending time with our friends and meeting new people over social media. The thing is, with our smartphones, now we easily get distracted from our work and sleep because we want to always be with our friends and share every moment with them; they are the few people we can be ourselves and be stress-free with. We don't want to miss out on these fun times just because we have school, but we also don't want them to ruin us. We are just very attached to them.

2. School

As a high schooler, school is very important to every student. We want to have good grades and graduate to a good college. We want to do our best to impress colleges and make our parents proud, but how is this possible with the amount of time we have per day? Everyone knows how hard high school is, how much work we get and how much we have to study to get good grades. Other than grades we also have extracurricular activities such as clubs, sports, volunteering, etc. There isn't enough time to maintain sleep and social life with school.

3. Sleep

The most important thing for any human being is sleep, but in high school, we don't have much of this because we are too busy trying to manage our life with school and our social life. We don't realize how much we miss sleeping until we come to high school. An average high schooler needs about nine and a half hours of sleep every day, but if we only end up having 16 hours gap between coming back from school and waking up and going back again, how are we suppose to get the amount of sleep we need and manage between school work and social life? With the amount of work and stress we have, 16 hours is definitely not enough to get the perfect management without stress

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
