I bet if you're reading this then you are either thinking about going to college, are in college, or have gone to college. And unless you're still thinking about going then I am sure you agree with me: College is a huge waste of money and time.
This probably applies to 80% of all students in college. But stick with me now, it may be a waste in the sense that a large majority of jobs don't need degrees or special knowledge, but still require you have a piece of paper that says you're somewhat special. However college doesn't serve the purpose to make you valuable because you know facts, it's bigger than that.
1. Laundry
It may seem weird but laundry teaches us a lot. Laundry makes you self-sufficient, clean, and presentable. It teaches us to not be lazy when it comes to cleanliness because if we procrastinate it then we have more work to do than before. It is the first thing we do on our own (if you didn't before). Laundry is a necessity unless you are made of money and can buy new clothes every day.
2. Deadlines
Due date... Due date... Due date... I cannot stress this enough that making deadlines is key in college and in life. Deadlines in high school, at least for me were more of a goal to hit there wasn't much consequence. However, in college and in life, hitting deadlines will either make or break you. You will either become successful in life or you will drop to the bottom of the food chain and start all over.
3. Critical thinking
This life skill is the gift that keeps on giving, day in day out. Critical thinking can get you through any situation in life, whether it is on the job, walking to school, or lying in bed. If a problem arises good thinkers will always find a solution, or at least get closer to one. You will almost always be asked a question in every interview where you get to prove that you have this skill.
