It's is 2016 but with everything going on these days 2002 seems to be making a comeback. And by that I mean all the bands we used to call "emo" as we blasted them in our CD players to block out our parents nagging about whatever was going on that day. It's a bittersweet moment, if we're being honest. It's nice to listen to bands we were so in love with back in the early 2000's to make a comeback. Yet again, these bands all have these lives they live that have outgrown the early 2000's. And not to mention the rise of 2000's games and even politics. So the real question is, are the early 2000's back in style?

1. Blink 182, "California"

Thank the Lord, Jesus Christ himself for this remarkable new album Blink 182 has blessed us with. Its album includes 16 new songs with the same sound that they blessed us with back in the early 2000s. Their hot song off of the album, "Bored To Death," is playing on every radio station these days to remind us that they still have it even though they are down a singer (due to interest in alien life form and disagreements with the band). But they still rock the stage and finishing their tour up in October. What better way is there to feel nostalgic? Seeing Blink 182 live.

2. Pokemon Go!

How could I not bring this up? It may not be a band but collecting Pokemon cards and battling your friends, neighbors, and classmates was the highlight of our childhood. And with technology improving some random dude actually created the app Pokemon Go. Through this app, we have rekindled our inner elementary school selves by trying to catch the nearest Charmander. When we were younger we made some of our best friends this way and even today we're meeting random people trying to catch them all when your playing in the park. Just let that sink in, Pokemon brings the world together.

3. Clinton Running For Office

Even though Bill Clinton wasn't a big part of the 2000s and his term ended in 2001, he still does count. And now his wife, Hilary Clinton, is running for office. The fact that we have another Clinton running for office and Blink 182 releasing an album and being on the Top 50 charts is insane. The 2000s have found a way to creep back into our lives and honestly, I couldn't be happier.

4. AND HOW CAN I FORGET GREEN DAY?

Yes! That's right! Another popular punk rock band that is releasing a new album this month called, "Revolution Radio." I could not be more excited for this album because it actually sounds like the punk rock music that they played when I was in elementary school. We can all admit, Green Day kind of lost their way when it came to performing. Their music grew softer and if anything, we enjoy the angry music. Their single off of the album, "Bang Bang," is written in the point of view of a mass shooter. It has one catchy beat and an interesting point of view. But I am counting down the days until the album is released and the tour kicks off. You can sure as hell find me at one of their shows.

The 2000s are back and it's better than ever. We have the music, the politics, and the gaming. How much better can it get?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
