The 11 Stages Of Writing A College Paper

I think I see procrastination in the future... don't you?

Well, school is back in full swing, and I can't help but confess that I'm back to being a complaining pro. Mostly my complaining has to do with all the reading I have every single day. However, I just had to write my first paper. So, I thought I would share some accurate depictions of what that process went like, especially since it has been quite awhile since the last time I had to write one. I'm betting you can relate to them, too. Anyway, let's take a look at some gifs that accurately show the stages of writing a paper.

1.

First, you sit down ready to work. Determined to get this paper done. You're finally going to stay on top of things and not wait until the last day to do it.

2.

You get the first few paragraphs completed and even congratulate yourself.

3.

To reward yourself with such achievement, you decide to allow yourself some social media time or Netflix time...

4.

But then when you get back to your paper an hour or so later, you realize you can't do it anymore. You realize you can't come up with any more words.

5.

Then it comes the time to get back to work. You sit down and stare at the screen again, then decide to just randomly press the keyboard over and over until you have five lines of gibberish.

6.

After you've sat there holding down the 'backspace' button and all your gibberish is deleted, you start finding random things around you to pick up and observe. Procrastination, boredom, or both?

7.

It finally comes to a point were you want to just throw your laptop, but you don't because then you'd break it.

8.

Which then leads you to get frustrated that you can't get your frustration out, so you do something along the lines of this.

9.

Inevitably, you realize you're not going to work on the paper. "Well, I'm done with you. It's time for Netflix."

10.

Then the day before the paper's due date comes and yells at you, which leaves you in this kind of emotion.

11.

At last, you understand you have no choice whatsoever but to write this paper. Say hello to caffeine and say good-bye to sleep for a while.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have an episode of Grey's Anatomy waiting for me...I mean, honestly, I have a paper about a book I didn't very much care for waiting to be written, but who am I kidding? That can wait.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
