So, I know that "Gossip Girl" has been long gone and that the drama of the upper east side isn't much of a popular culture topic anymore, but it still sits on my brain on a daily basis. By playing such an important role in my awkward adolescence, I quickly developed strong opinions about this crew of teenage Manhattan elites who I grew to love and to hate, as I'm sure that you all did as well. It's no secret that these characters made some catastrophic mistakes and completely irrational decisions throughout the series. Here some of the top ones that really left me wondering what they were thinking.
1. Any decision that Serena ever made
She gets herself into trouble, reflects on her life, can’t choose between Dan and Nate, changes her ways, goes back to getting herself into trouble, and repeats.
2. Little J's makeup choices from about season two on
There was so much black eyeliner.
3. Chuck deciding to be a peasant in France for a while
Chuck, we all know where you belong: in a ridiculously expensive suit in your billion dollar penthouse and saying something completely inappropriate. We will have none of this "giving up the empire" stuff.
4. Lily and Rufus getting married
This made Dan and Serena step-siblings shortly after becoming a couple, only to then be in-laws when Lily and Rufus tied the knot.
5. That awkward period of “Jenny and Nate”
Nathaniel, you are about 26 and this girl is about 7. Reconsider your choices.
6. When Blair and Dan decided they would be an acceptable couple
Blair should be with no one other than Chuck, but if she’s going to be with someone else, then it is 100 percent not Dan Humphrey, her best friend's ex/brother/future hubby. Blair, you’re better than that lonely boy.
7. Dan not asking Georgina for a paternity test for his “son"
The psycho girl who is known for lying and manipulating says that her baby is mine. That seems legit.
8. Vanessa
Her character was a mistake entirely. Does anyone actually like her? Did she serve any beneficial purpose?
9. Blair actually following through with marrying Louis
Even though he was gorgeous royalty, we all know that Chuck belonged next to her at the altar. (It's a good thing that we got there, kids.)
10. Making lonely boy the gossip girl
Not only does it make no sense and the loopholes are infinite, but we all know that Dorota would have been the perfect gossip girl.
