The wait is finally over. After months and months of speculation and witty Saturday Night Live sketches our country has elected a new president. While most people were excited for the election to finally be over, I had a different perspective. Don't get me wrong, of course I was ready for the election to be over, but I was more concerned with election aftermath, regardless of who won.
After the 2004 election, my mom said she cried while eating her cereal at breakfast. I was then and couldn't understand how an election could make someone cry. Ah to be young and naive. Fast forward 12-years-later and I found myself crying over the election results just like my mom had done.
There are many reasons why I'll miss the Obama administration. Aside from the First Family, I'll miss Joe Biden the most. While Leslie Knope will always be Joe's No. 1 fan, I might be a close second. #PreciousCargo. For the past eight years, Joe Biden has been like America's uncle and although his time as VP is running out, he has given us the gift that keeps on giving: inspiration for memes.
To cope with the election results, some people have written lengthy Facebook posts or marched in the streets. Then, in these dark and troubling times, people have tapped into their creative potential and have given the internet the glorious and entertaining Joe Biden and Barack Obama petty memes.
