We all have that best friend… you know, the one who:
- You laugh at
- You cry with
- You can drag everywhere! (Even to your boring family dinners)
- You can totally trust taking a fab photo of you
- Embarrasses you when she is making too much noise in the movie theater
- Flips out when you lose her during a crazy night out
- Turns to you for the latest gossip
- Wakes you up at ungodly hours
- You hurt sometimes even though you totally didn’t mean to
- You can trust with all your secrets
- You have endless conversations with
- Can’t help but let you get distracted from homework
- You can turn to when you’re bored
- Makes you wonder what you’d do without her
I'm sure it seems as though I am talking about one of those friends you have had since grade school, the friend you have been through everything with, right? Though it may seem like the case, this "best friend" I just described is your iPhone. As comically accurate as this list is in comparing a smart phone to real life friend, the reality is that in this day in age we are undoubtedly attached to our iPhones. Everywhere you turn, people have their heads down while tapping away at a screen as another day passes by. Like small handheld friends, people these days are even beginning to lose a sense of the value behind true communication with others.
The bottom line? Don't let your best friend be your iPhone: put it away, look up for a change and take in the beauty of real live moments. I promise you won't miss anything important.
