Thanks To The Best English Teachers In The World

I seriously cannot thank all of the English teachers I had in junior high and high school enough. And I even can't thank the ones I didn't have, but got to know, either. 'Cause I'm sure your students are thinking the same things about you that I think about the ones I had. My school district seriously has the best English teachers in the world. They truly all know what they are teaching and prepare their students very well for their future.

Thank you for teaching how to write proper sentences that actually made sense — sorry if this article isn't grammatically correct. Thanks for teaching how to write a simple essay and speeches at the junior high level. My junior high English teachers really prepared me for high school.

Thank you for having us write responses about the chapters we read. That seriously helped me, and I'm sure others understand what we were reading better. I do have to confess, though, I didn't always read every single book you assigned in high school. And I am so sorry about that. I should have done my homework and read my assigned reading.

Thank you for having confidence in all of your students! 'Cause if any of them are/were like me, I can say your confidence helped a ton. Especially when it came to writing the research paper. At the beginning of sophomore year when you told us we would have to be writing a seven to 10 page paper, I was like, "There's no way that's possible." By the time I came around to writing it, I thought there was no way I could keep from going more than 10 pages long. Thanks for letting it go over the limit.

Thanks for having us do all of those projects for the books we read. Doing multiple projects for the same book truly helped us understand it fully. It really helped that we had to do them in groups because then we were able to see different views about the book. Or if we didn't quite understand something we had a peer to ask. Although we may have dreaded them and thought they were a waste of time at the time, they were definitely beneficial to our learning experience.

Thank you for tearing apart our essays. Honestly before I had you (you know who you are) I thought I was decent at writing papers. But with you, you helped me see how I could really write. I wasn't writing to my fullest potential before you. You seriously prepared me to write in college. I know we hated your class, how much writing you had us do and the 6 in the morning conferences, but in the end, it was all worth it. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

And of course I'm writing this article at the time night, well day, depending how you look at it, I did all throughout high school. Yes, it's practically 2 in the morning. Honestly, though, this is the time when I write best. Most of the essays in high school and junior high I wrote at this time, and I got A's on them. But mainly I got the A's cause I had the best English teachers in the whole world. Thank you so much for being my teachers!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
