In your lifetime, you meet at least one person who changes you for the better. Personally, I have had a group of people who have done that for me. And I've found that things are better that way. They are the people I call when I need to go for a drive at 2 a.m. with no destination — just to talk. They are the people I call when I need to complain about school or family issues, or want to boast about my recent accomplishments.

They understand and accept me just the way I am, and for that, I am forever grateful.

So, thank you for being you. I know that I am difficult to please. I am a living contradiction and I am stubborn as hell. The fact that you always manage to get through to me is proof that you mean more to me than I could ever express.

Thank you for always making sure I put aside some time for myself in life to do things for myself. Life isn't that serious and when you make sure that I take a break and do something fun, it makes each and every day so much easier.

Thank you for being there at my best and at my worst, even if you have something going on in your personal lives that is much more important.

Thank you for never leaving me or giving up on me. I easily go through 906,000 emotions a day and you manage to deal with every single one — so you basically deserve a medal or something.

Thank you for always being proud of me, whether it was for a grade or a physical accomplishment. I know that I always have a crowd cheering me on and that means the world to me.

Thank you for treating me like I matter. I really appreciate how important you make me feel. It gets me through hard days and reminds me that to someone, I am a necessity.

Lastly, thank you for changing my life. Your mere existence has made me a better, more caring, and inspired person. And that is the most wonderful thing anyone has ever done for me.

I will never be able to repay you for all that you've given me since I was born or just in the last three to four years. Just know that throughout my life, I owe every one of my accomplishments to you. I couldn't be prouder or more honored to have you in my corner. I love you.

Thankfully,

Your Person

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
