To my big sister,
I love you even when I don't necessarily like you. You have inspired me in so many ways I can't even express, and you have helped me to become the person I am today. I know that sometimes I under appreciate you and all that you do for me, but I'd just like to take this moment to say thank you for sticking by my side from day one (I mean that literally.)
Thanks for being my role model.
In this day and age, it's hard to find a good role model with all these crazy celebrities and politicians running around, but with a big sister like you, I knew exactly who I wanted to be when I got older. You showed me kindness and strength in the most real way. I watched you conquer all of life's challenges and even during the toughest of times you stayed true to who you were and always strived to be a better person. If that's not a role model, I don't know what one is.
Thanks for giving me guidance.
I probably won't ever admit this again, but in a lot of ways, you are wiser than me (after all, you've been through most of what I am currently going through.) So the few years you have on me taught you a lot, and because of this, I always know that I can come to you for advice whether it's "how do I cook this dish" or "what should I do about a bad friend." You have supported me and been there for me; no matter how big or small the situation I know you will be there looking out for me.
Thanks for being my constant.
I have had a lot of "best friends forever," come and go, but with you, I know that it actually is forever. You're the first friend I ever made, and the last one I'd ever want to lose. I know that I get on your nerves sometimes (just like you do to me), but let's face it that's just what sisters and friends do. At the end of the day, I know you are the friend I can count on and trust the most.
God made us sisters because he knew I needed you as my role model, friend and anchor. I am blessed beyond belief to have you as a sister. So even when we're bickering and fighting, I love you more than you could ever imagine, and I would never want to call someone else my sister.
