Dear friend,
I know we haven't known each other for our whole lives, but it feels like an eternity. For the past few months we have grown closer than ever, doing almost absolutely everything together. When I first came to college with no friends and an anxious heart I knew it would be tough to find friends. And to think that we would have never met if it wasn't for that mutual friend? Thankfully we instantly clicked and before we knew it, we were inseparable.
This is a letter to say thanks. Thanks for the many nights we have stayed up to study, do homework, laughing and watching crazy videos on the internet until three in the morning. Thanks for always being there for me when I needed to vent to someone. You always know what to say at the right time to help me with whatever I'm going through. I am always able to count on you and your funny jokes to make me feel better. Thanks for sticking by my side and always being around needed help.
I am a firm believer in meeting everyone for a reason, and I'm thankful that there was a reason I met you. For the past few months we have bonded over exams, three hour dinners in the dining hall, many study sessions and the late night snack runs. I spend my time just hanging out with you and I am more than grateful for you and our friendship. No matter what we do, we always end up on the floor laughing and with happiness in our hearts.
In high school, I never really had a close group of friends to call my own. I've had my trust thrown around, rocky and drama-filled years, and many best friend relationships end. As I grew up and went to college, I had a twisted view of what friendships should be. But as our new friendship developed, I was able to trust you and connect with you almost instantly. I am able to say that you are my best friend and that you have shaped me into the person I am today. We are two peas in a pod, and nothing will break this bond.
So, again I wanted to say thanks. Thanks for always being there for me. Thanks for letting me listen to your boy troubles and thanks for eating all the foods I don't like. Thanks for lending me your books, paying for some of the takeout, and just being an awesome person. We have grown closer in a few months than any other friendship, and I can't wait to see how our friendship grows. Thanks for laughing really loudly with me at 2 a.m., and putting your trust in me. I am very glad I met you, and I can't wait to see where our friendship goes.
Thank you, and I promise I'm here for you always.
Love always,
Me
