Most people view their ex as horrible human beings. They never want to speak of them or hear from them again. They view them as monsters and feel like they have ruined their lives. This may be true for some ex's but some ex's teach you life lessons and make you a better person. Here are some reasons why my ex was sent from heaven and put into my life.

1. He challenged me

He challenged me to be a better person, to reach for my goals. He pushed me to do things that I would not normally do, in a good way. He pushed me out of my comfort zone. He challenged me to be the best version of myself and to do what I love.

2. Supported me

He supported me in every way. He wanted me to reach my goals. He supported my dreams and wanted to help me reach them. He told me to shoot for the stars and he was going to help me get there. He had my back and I had his.

3. Encouraged me

He encouraged me when I was on the fence about making a difficult decision, when I would be having a hard day, he would give me the encouragement I needed to get through the day.

4. Reassured me

Whenever I felt down about myself or did not feel confident, he was always there to encourage me and reassure me that I am capable of great things and built up my confidence. He was always my supporter, the person that I go to when I am having a hard time.

5. Made me feel beautiful

He always told me how beautiful I was. No matter if I had a full face of makeup on or had just washed my face, he would tell me I was beautiful no matter what. He made me feel beautiful both inside and out because he genuinely cared about me, not just for my looks but for who I was. At least that is what it felt like to me.

6. He strengthened me

By putting me through a breakup and the pain that it caused, my ex strengthened me. He taught me how to be strong when I feel weak, how to pull myself together when I feel like I am falling apart at the seams.

7. He taught me true happiness

He taught me what it was like to be truly happy with someone. With him there were no problems. I was truly happy in every aspect of life, and having him in my life made my days so much brighter and my life was so much happier. I was a happier more positive person when I was with him.

8. Taught me love

Most of all, he taught me how to fall in love. He taught me that I should not fall too quickly and not just give my heart to anyone because it can easily be broken. He taught me what it is like to care for someone with every part of my being. He taught me that love is probably the most important aspect of life and one day I am going to find it.

If you dig down deep, there are some reasons to appreciate your ex. They can teach you valuable life lessons that nobody else can.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
