When young people get a summer job, they never usually think of it as having a great impact on their life. Most do it just for the money while they are home from college or before they start another year of high school. My experience was so much different…
This summer, I was hired at the company that my mom works at to help out doing different jobs. I never expected that I would get as close to my coworkers as I did. As I start to pack to head back to school, it is beginning to hit me that I will once again be leaving my home, my parents and now, the people I have gotten so close with at my summer job. It’s a good thing I will be back in four short months!
To the Leader of our company, I want to say thank you for giving me the opportunity to become a part of the team this summer. It has taught me how to be a part of a group and how to work together to achieve a common goal. These are life lessons that I will carry forever and I never would have learned them if I was not hired. Thank you so much.
To my boss, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me along the way and for teaching me all the “in’s and out’s” of the job. You were so helpful in getting me started and learning how to do everything and when I had a question, you never hesitated to help me out. You are truly a large part of the reason that I love the job so much.
To everyone else I work with on a daily basis, I once again say, thank you. Each and every one of you have helped me in one way or another. The biggest lessons that I have learned came from working with all of you. I will never forget how you all rooted for me when I went to take my driver’s test. You all helped me find a level of confidence that I didn’t know I had. I can honestly say that you have all helped me grow as a person. I can only hope that I brought as many smiles to your faces as you did to mine! I loved the daily laughs and hugs!
As I leave to head back to college, I don’t want you all to be too sad… I will be back, I promise! I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with such a great group of people.
