Mom & Dad,
You two have been there for me since day one. I would not be where I am today without your unconditional support in everything I set my mind to. You have taught me some important life lessons, as well as being there for when I fell sometimes. Before anyone else, y'all are my forever bestfriends! Here are some reasons why:
1. You Make Me Laugh When I Need It Most:
We can be goofy together 24/7. No matter where we are, we are always having a blast and fill the room with laughter.
2. You Feed Me:
What are best friends without food. Thanks for always making the best dinners every night. I miss them greatly now that I'm in college. As best friends, you've always been amazing at dealing with me when I get hangry at times, but always come in clutch when I'm in need of some chocolate.
Of course we are best friends, so I will always share with you!
3. For Dealing With My Shenanigans:
Thank you Mom and Dad for dealing with me, even when I'm getting into trouble. Sorry for that one time I decided to go swimming in my church clothes in the 50 degree weather of Indiana that one day in March.
I'm sorry I was just too excited, I didn't even take my shoes off. But you're my best friends; so instead of spanking me or taking me out of the freezing water, you decided to snap a picture.
4. For Adding A New Member To Our Squad:
Thank you for allowing my sister Katie to sit with us at lunch. I know we were skeptical but she ended up fitting into the Burke clan just perfectly. Now I finally had someone else to do some more shenanigans with.
Again, sorry for that time we got into mom's makeup bag during that road trip and turned ourselves into the Joker in less than ten minutes. But again, as best friends, you accept our shenanigans wholeheartedly.
5. For Allowing Me To Be Myself:
As my best friends, thank you mom and dad for always accepting me for who I am.
As my best friends you stood by my decision of not wanting to be a princess like everyone else that one Halloween. Thank you for rolling with me down the block so we could load up on more free chocolate.
6. For Being My Favorite Adventure Buddies:
Thank you taking me to my first college football game at Notre Dame in the freezing cold weather, Dad. I know it was cold, but thank you allowing us to stay the whole game. Thank you mom for always going shopping with me on Black Friday just so we can see how crazy people are, and for being my favorite shopping buddy.
7. For Being My #1 Fans:
As my best friends, thank you for always coming to my diving meets and cheering me on during other events. It was always great here y'all hoop and holler. Thank you continuing to support Katie and I in everything.
Our friendship has had its ups and downs throughout the years, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I am truly grateful for always being able to call you just to ramble about nothing. Thank you being my best friends. I can't wait to continue to make more memories and to take on the world with you. I love you!
